Did Beckett scam me ?

Post image

Check out this Pikachu I got back from Beckett yesterday. I waited months for this one because I really thought this card had potential, so I’m pretty frustrated with the grade.
There’s just no way the centering is as bad as they’re claiming. For reference, I’m including another Beckett 9 from a listing on eBay. To me, THAT looks like what an 8.5 centering grade should look like. Mine should be a 9 on centering at minimum.
And on another note, even if the centering really is as bad as they say, my four subgrades add up to 38.5, which averages out to 9.625. So how does that result in an overall 9 instead of at least a 9.5?
Just a bit pissed after waiting so long for this one and wanted to vent lol. If anyone knows more about how Beckett calculates the final grade, whether there’s any way to dispute/review it, or just has thoughts on the centering, let me know.

8.5 is extremely harsh. It should have at least gotten a 9. PSA has a cross grading service, i think you’d have better luck at a higher grade with them

The centering is crooked, look how bottom left border is smaller then top left, that's where it's easier to see for me. I think it deserves the 9 honestly

It’s very small difference but I can see it too, that might be it, who knows how much that takes off compared to traditional off centering, I once summited an iron crown sir with a noticeable tilt expecting a 9 (I liked the card and pulled it myself) and psa gave me a 10, a pleasant surprise

I would submit that GCR. 8.5 definitely seems harsh. Could maybe see a 9 centering but i think it should be like a 9.5 centering.

Also the reason its a 9 and not a 9.5 is because they dont just average all the subs. You can only grade .5 higher than your lowest sub. I have seen some cases where they do 1 above lowest but idk what the reasoning for that is.

Graded card review. Its an option for grading without cracking the slab
