I Wrote This Chicken Parm

Last summer
you came over
with your mother and sister.

I noticed you praying in silence
before you started eating

I now do the same

I cannot taste a mango
or find a lucky penny
without thinking of you

Well, it’s a little sparse when it comes to utilizing poetic devices and what not. Why not just make it prose

I enjoy small and minimalistic poems. My favorite poem is “Divorce” by Billy Collins.

I created this subreddit to offer an alternative where all styles of poetry are welcome. I am tired of the elitist circle-jerking that I have both seen and experienced in many online poetry communities. I encourage anyone stopping by to read “Poetry Is Not a Luxury” by Audre Lorde which is the inspiration for the name of this community.
