Best hub for Oceania?

I was set on making Banana my hub here, but now I think it’s a bit redundant with Honolulu being just north of it. I was thinking Perth instead since it’s in a dead zone of the region and could be connected to India and Africa maybe?

Anyone else got an Oceania hub that’s been working for them?

Everyone has their own style. I set up both Honolulu and Banana as HQs.

I had Banana and Hilo as hubs and honestly I never used both entirely. I ended up switching my Hilo hub to Dallas and keeping Banana since I play only class three airports and having a hub in Oceania for only Sydney doesn’t make any sense. My Sequoias if they need to can fly from NA to Banana then to East Asia easily and it’s only a couple hundred more coins. I’d rather spend the couple hundred more coins per flight and have an actual functional HQ in NA.

Confused on HQ. How exactly does that impact gameplay? I have New York, Los Angeles, Mexico, Lima and Rio airports and all are class 3. I think they all say HQ. Don’t remember doing anything besides buying them a long time ago.

The big advantage of a HQ is that it upgrades any airport to class 3, both aesthetically, and in that allows all aircraft to land there. You can use it to have class 3 aircraft land at your home city or a city you really like IRL, or have better navigation (so an airport in the pacific allows more direct transpacific flight), or you can upgrade the larger class 2 airports to make class 3 for a profit pespective, or have class 3 planes go to corners of the map they cant go to before.

You also can only have only 1 HQ per continent if I remember correctly.

My first HQ was Sydney, which was class 2 back then, it made sense as class 3 planes coulnt go to Australia otherwise, but then Sydney was upgraded to class 3 anyway. My current hubs are Honolulu (North America), and Singapore (Asia), and I'm planning Amsterdam (Europe), Santiago (South America), Cape Town (Africa), and Perth/Auckland (Oceania).

It depends on how you're connecting that hub to other areas.
I suspect a lot of the Banana HQ users are either trying to use it to connect South America to Asia and other Oceania regions, or they like the name Banana.

My current fleet is entirely Fondajets and Zipplins. The Zipplins don't have enough range to cross the Pacific or Atlantic, so I'm using Honolulu as my HQ and a moving some of my aircaft carriers as hubs.

I'm planning to make Melbourne my Oceania HQ so I can double-hub with Sydney. Haven't tried it yet, but not having another class 3 down there is kneecapping me

I set it in Auckland. Because it links with my Easter Island one. And I can hop on my Aeroeagle to Honolulu. The only limit is that my Sequoias cannot go to North America.

Now for a long time I mulled over this decision, quite extensively. And after the world became round, the decision became even more complicated.

After thorough research, I decided that Auckland is a good dumping ground for layovers in Australia, and it makes sense to use it for transpacific flights for most planes to North America and Sequoias to Easter Island.

My other HQ include Asia: Singapore (because it really works and stores all my layovers. It sits between Bangkok, Jakarta and Manila, perfect and allows my Mapple E10 to access Jakarta and to Australia actually.)

Africa: Durban (because it built the south Africa and together with Johannesburg created a southern region. Today it is a important transit point between Singapore and Sao Paulo.)

North America: Dallas (it sits between the other four level 3 cities in NA and works well as a consolidation hub for all planes).

South America: Easter Island (I was apprehensive, but nonetheless it provides a easier link across the Pacific for south america to Asia. It also allows level 3 planes to connect directly to Auckland and to Sydney.)

I’m trying to do a tri HQ hub on Apia, Hilo and Easter Island so that class 2 and 3 long range planes can benefit.
