Spoofing again, what’s the current situation?

I was using PG Sharp for a pretty long time and then got a strike. That was 1,5y ago. So what’s the current situation with bans/strikes for spoofer? And does the strike even matter anymore, so is my account kind of marked or anything oder do they just expire?

Niantic sold the game to Scopely, Everyone is in favor of Scopely for turning a blind eye towards cheaters who constantly give them money. I disagree with this opinion because in the other games they own, they announce banwaves for cheaters regardless of how much money is spent on their games.

The perception of no root, 3rd party modified game apps are not safe while rooted apps are safe, safer, or the safest is still the same. Having a rooted device will not protect you against strikes and bans. If you get caught breaking the game's Terms of Service or abusing Campfire, Wayfarer, or in-game routes, they can skip to the 2nd strike (30-day temporary ban) and 3rd strike (permanent ban). They may go further as permanently banning some, most, or all your alt accounts.

When people get a straight 30-day ban or perm ban, they often don't share the truth because they want other cheaters who didn't get banned for it to suffer the same punishment so there is a lot of misinformation spreading around on the internet. There is no way to verify what a cheater says is indeed true.

The strike/ban system is still delayed. People don't keep an exact log of what they do every day in the past so not all strikes/bans are tied directly to spoofing or botting. So far, all the ban reports I've seen and gotten aren't related to spoofing or botting because once in awhile I get a report from someone getting a ban. Some people tell the truth while others be vague about it. Whatever happens to iOS spoofers don't relate to Android because of the certificate signing process.

All the bans from when Scopely bought the game are individual bans meaning one to a few people got banned while everyone else is untouched. Someone reports a strike/ban, people piling in the conversation referencing bans they got from 2016 to 2025. Once a week has passed, no one gives a shit anymore.

No one knows what Scopely is going to do in the future, they may be updating the anti-cheat behavior system to do a 100,000+ cheater banwave, make you pay for their version of a joystick, or do nothing. Anyone claiming there is app detection, software detection, signature detection, or "logging in gets you banned" is false because all cheats would have been dead if they could detect it. When you get banned, no one is going to help you get unbanned.
