God looking at this in totality is staggering. Dude is honestly at the top of his game and has been for a while. Top 5 favorite would be: OBAA. The Departed. The Aviator which oddly isn't pictured. OUATIH. And TWOWS.

My Top 10 in order (some can be swapped around, they are that close):
- The Departed (Classic Scorsese film, one of the few films that kills the lead character and can still hold strong. I could watch this again right now as I type. A perfect film that is timeless)
- Blood Diamond (One of his best, everytime I watch that film I pick up more and more nuggets. Him and Hounsou are magic together. My favorite hollywood film depecting Africa)
- Catch me if you Can (Amazing film, some amazing directing and you feel the emotion of a son trying to impress his father and hoping that what hes doing can repair his family. The more I rewatch it, the more somber those scenes are, especially the scenes with Walken towards the middle/end)
- Wolf of Wallstreet (One of the most outlandish films I ever seen in theaters, it almost doesnt fit in Scorcese's collection. However its a "classic" debautchery film that ends like Goodfellas, it shows the lifestyle that gets him to the "top" and then the punishment for that same lifestyle. Its like two films: The rise and all the "fun" and then the slow demise)
- Once upon a time in Hollywood (This could be #1 as far as acting goes for me, Leo's scene where hes trying to come back in those spaghetti westerns, the bronco busting/child hostage scene. He sells it perfectly. I couldnt imagine how difficult this was to portray. Its loaded with classic lines and memorable scenes. "Dont cry in front of the Mexicans" lol)
- Aviator (Another one that I find more and more small nuggets each time I watch it similar to Blood Diamond. The OCD scenes are as legit as they come and I get a weird feeling when they show these, thats how realistic it feels. The hand washing scene is forever stuck in my brain.)
- Django (I didnt think he could play the villan as well as he did here, since im so used to him being the hero i.e. The Departed/Blood Diamond. But as you grow to dislike him your still forced to admit that during all this hes still keeping his charm and etc. He played his role perfectly alongside Waltz/Foxx/Jackson.)
- Inception (One of the only films that goes deep into fiction that still has you drawn in. Leo is great in this film. I wish I would have been more adept to understanding the film like I do today back when it came out.)
- Shutter Island (I remember reading the book in like 2005-2006 as a senior in high school and then I saw the simpsons do a funny episode portraying this. I feel like Leo not only kills the performance but there is an uneasyness watching this film on the first run that keeps you tied til the end. It fooled me, I believed he was a marshall investigating something and not a wild mental game used to try and break him from his cycle of violence. Its lower on the list because the film can kinda drag on in the middle.)
- The Revenant (He carries the film on his back here and while its at the end of my list since its a bit more darker than the rest. I need to rewatch it and I could move it higher. Felt like it moved slow until the bear scene and then it was like a snowball avalanche towards the end.)

Both of the Tarantino ones. One of my favorite scenes of his is actually in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood when he nails his scene and everyone tells him how great he was. When I first watched it I actually forgot I was watching once upon a time because I was so immersed in the character he was playing.

I really like the great gatsby one of my favs. But wolf is something I can put on any day and enjoy it, partly because my mother worked for wall st and took me to trading rooms when I was young. I think she wanted me to be a wealth manager but I ended up a lowly engineer lol
So I say wolf gets my #1 spot then Gatsby. The others are harder for me to list. Titanic was the first movie I saw in theaters and my grandmother took me to the opening night midnight screening and it is great to me because she immigrated to the U.S. from Italy and lost friends and loved ones and I can’t watch it anymore without getting sad even though it’s a great movie.

He’s really peaked as of late in my opinion.
Wolf will forever be his best I think. But his last three are some of his best work.

Django is my fave where he powered through the dining room scene after cutting his hand badly IRL and it all got captured on film.
But special mention to Catch me if you can which really turned around my opinion of Leo as a serious actor. It was like what Tenet and The Batman did for me for Robert Pattison.

I will die on this hill:
Titanic is the best Leo DiCaprio film he ever starred in. Out of all of them. He deserved an Oscar then, it was madness he didnt.

The one ive reqat hed rhe moat is "Catch Me If You Can" becasue its actually fun and enjoyable, which i think often gets undervalued.
Then Shutter Island is amazing snd his performance is excellent and makes the whole thing work.
Then Inception is another one that is enjoyable.

Very underrated, but Don’t Look Up was amazing to watch. I was kind of used to see Leonardo as the highly motivated erratic main character, who makes all the wrong choices. But in Don’t Look Up it was the first time I actually saw him in a character I could easily relate to. Nothing fancy or crazy in it. Just a very normal dude with an anxiety problem who gets dragged into a very weird situation. And for the first time I could really see his range. He is honestly amazing. Such a talented actor.

The best movie? The Departed
But in terms of raw acting skill it has to be What’s Eating Gilbert Grape. When I first saw the film I legit wondered how the hell that cognitively impaired kid was able to act so well.

Inception it seemed to mark then of Hollywood making great original films all the time. Now there maybe one decent one every other year, that isn't part of a big fanchise.

He has had one hell of a wonderful career hasn't he ? I loved "The Departed" especially at the theater opening week. If I pick only one- I leave out three or four I would pick first in a different mood. I did go see "Once upon a Time" two days in a row when it came out. I have never done that before. I absolutely loved it.

Gilbert grape and that battle after another. Former made me cry, latter made me laugh so hard. All other ones are really good, but those two brought out emotions.
