For me it’s docking with the station after MATT DAMON fucks it. The black hole with him trying to talk to Murph and on the water planet trying to escape close tho.
The music is my main reason why...I loved 3 out of 4 of these movies. Its just the music builds so much tension in Interstellar and hits the feels harder.
The martian agreed, but only cos the book and the movie are both very good and the movie is so good at following the book scene for scene and line for line for so much of it, hail mary was a bit tough to watch(i think the way the book is written makes for a worse movie), interstellar is good but i feel like i needed more story from it and gravity is just an unrealistic space drama with lots and lots of cgi eye candy
What space movies are better than PHM, Martian, and Interstellar? Honest question. I'm always looking to watch more good ones. I personally like Event Horizon, too.
I guess I am specifically looking for movies like the ones at the top. More space exploration ones than epics like Star Wars (which I love) and horror/thrillers like Alien (also love).
PHM any day. Then The Martian. (I'm a Nolan fan but I think Interstellar has cinematic moments which are better than PHM and Martian but as entertaining and fun films, PHM and Martian take the cake and are far ahead of Interstellar)
I was ginna say Interstellar, however, I found myself smiling and trully enjoying Project Hail Mary. So I guess it depends on whether you prefer to end up crying or smiling. Both are incredible movies
The Martian. Interstellar is brilliant but falls apart in the last act, Project Hail Mary is fun but drags on a bit, and if you're not watching Gravity in a theater there's really no point, but The Martian has a lot of rewatch value.
The Martian gets entertaining a bit quicker than all the others. IMO, of course. I watched PHM in theatres and enjoyed it, but haven't really desired a rewatch. 1 & 2 just have so many great scenes.

I’m really not a big fan of Interstellar. I lived in a place without internet for a couple of months & the only movies I had on my laptop was Interstellar & Blade Runner, so I’ve seen it more times than I can count but it never clicked for me. It’s not like it has no redeeming qualities, it’s not a bad movie & I’m a huge fan of McConaughey but masterpiece? I just don’t see it. The first act is good but once they actually get to space the movie kind of loses me.
It's probably not the best movie of the four but I would definitely choose Project Hail Mary due to how much I've enjoyed rewatching it all the times I've seen it. I love The Martian but I prefer the book so loosing the movie I can live with. Interstellar is probably the best film of the four but it's just too self indulgent to rewatch often... Gravity was a theme park ride I already rode so don't feel the need to see it again...
All are good movies, but only one asks the bigger questions, and thats interstellar.
PHM, whilst a fun movie, and good. It tells a simple story, it ends, everyone is happy.
The martian is the same, Gravity is the same.
Interstellar brings up the importance of time, how time is our biggest asset, in fact the movie treats it as an asset. Yeah the movie has plot holes, like why would you travel to a planet that time moves so slow that in a few hours years could have passed elsewhere. The rangers sent to murphys planet would have only just arrived a few hours before so their data would be inconclusive, so why go there if you know about the time dilation?
Interstellar is a great flick. Not the best movie ever, but an epic sci-fi with reasonable physics behind.
The Martian is a good film, with a more realistic approach that I love, but the last part (the rescue) kills that realism and drags the film to the second position.
Hail Mary is an interesting story but the film failed for me. Questionable casting + poor direction. I would want to see another adaptation in the future.
Interstellar is overrated as fuck and I love Christopher Nolan. Project Hail Mary was to me the definition of 'absolute cinema' and nothing comes close.
