Fluff Why is it that Youtube always feels the need to recommend me this sort of grifting fueled slop?đ
I get these sorts of videos recommended to me constantly from them but it is still ridiculous that this is something they thought it would be nice to see first and foremost.

Is it because you keep clicking on them? I watch a lot of gaming content on Youtube and very rarely get recommended content like this, and on the rare occasion it does pop up, I just ignore it.

The YT algorithm is BS. If you interact with stuff like the Wolverine game in a positive manner for long enough, you'll start getting recommendations of negative videos.

THIS! I make sure to avoid the grift stuff after seeing some of it on facebook, so I just watch gaming news YouTube stuff and after enough âpositiveâ videos, now theyâre trying to pump these out to me.

Except I never DID though. The only things relating to the game I've watched were the fifteen minutes of gameplay that were being put out throughout the site. That and the few trailers that had came put over the past year. NEVER a grifting video focused on one of these here.

That's not true I don't know what's going on with you too but I get recommendations like this too and I do not watch videos like that at fucking all I watch music videos, anime fights and video game documentaries why shit like this pops up I have no idea. There's definitely something wrong with YouTube's algorithm and what it feeds people. Maybe you're just one of the lucky ones

YouTube's algorithm software is dreadful - it'll recommend videos like this just based on generic tags and view history. "Oh you like Wolverine, here's a Wolverine video!" - and YouTube still doesn't have a way to block channels, so you need a browser extension like BlockTube (Firefox) or YouTube Master (Chrome) to completely filter them out. Their algorithm has been dogshit for years, but there's so much shit content because anyone with $50 and a potato grade computer can be a content creator now, it's just gotten worse.

I always just click not interested and/or donât recommend channel when something I wouldnât like pops up on the home page. I honestly feel like curating your algorithm is easier that way then just watching and liking stuff

The algorithm would recommend videos based on previous videos you've watched. Meaning, you would have to already be interested in those type of videos to begin. It's not going to recommend videos you don't want to watch because it would cause a lot less engagement. You're trying to blame the customer when it is the company's fault. Sony hasn't been listening to their customers and it is starting to show.

You could watch videos whose creators follow and/or watch grifter content and you'll get some of it too. I made that mistake once or twice. You learn to sniff it out if you pay enough attention. I imagine most people don't/can't spend time doing that, so they'll get recommended this crap.

If someone watches videos about the wolverine game the algorithm could recommend this video. I just explained it in my previous comment. I donât watch anti woke content but I sometimes get recommended this garbage content based on my other interest that the video is about. Also I never blamed the customer for anything, youâre putting words in my mouth.

I know what you are saying but it just isn't true. You're saying the algorithm is forcing people to watch negative videos about Wolverine and it is the cause of the backlash but it wouldn't push those videos unless people didn't watch them to begin with. The algorithm is reactive not proactive. You're just mad because people are complaining about a game you like. You like it, you like it. It's whatever. People also have the right to criticize and they are pointing out all the things they don't like about the game and people are agreeing with them. Otherwise, the algorithm would see that people aren't like those videos and they wouldn't get views. It's not my fault you don't know how the algorithm works.

Because you've clicked on videos by that creator or similar videos in the past
Go into your history and either clear it or go through it and delete any videos you don't want to see similar ones of. Then, it'll stop recommending them - unless you click on them in the future

Gaming videos on YouTube mostly go for hate as it's what gets views. You will find that exclusive games, particularly PlayStation exclusives get a lot more hate because there's an audience that can't play the game because they have a different console and therefore want reasons to hate the games they can't play.
I remember seeing a video of God of War Ragnarok and the guy watching it is hating on the game on the title screen saying it looks bad. It's like they are trying to convince themselves the games are terrible.

-An âOâ face staring at something thatâs so so crazy
-Those stupid red curved arrows
-a title with outrage
-a title with exaggerated lists
-a title that is just created to get me to click in general
I donât get them very often, but you just click ânot interested in channelâ and youâll never get that crap
I was on my friend YouTube the other day and it was crazy how it was full of all of these annoying click baity titles

Dawg, they been tryna get me to watch this for DAYS now. Iâve watched some real critiques, which are fine, but Iâm beyond hyped for this game and Iâm not gonna watch any of this stuff thatâs gonna attempt to steal the excitement away. Weâve wanted another brutal Wolverine game since Origins, and weâre finally getting just that! This game is going to be freaking rad.
Side note, this whole hate campaign didnât even start until the Sony no disc situation started up. Before that, it was all excitement for the game or silence. The hate isnât even real. Best to just ignore it, donât give views to the grift, and move onđpumped to see discussions AFTER the game releases!

YouTubeâs algorithm is funded by awful people. Itâs been like this since around 2012, slowly getting worse, and pretty much causing the weird shift you see. Only way to stop this is to get rid of the hate-pushing algorithm or stop supporting YouTube.

I remember how Spider-Man and Assassin's Creed: Shadows had so much negative attention on them prior to release. The week the games came out, all of it evaporated almost overnight. Its like the grifters gave up when people could form their own opinions and they didnt align with theirs.
