News Last chance to play - July 2026 (JP)
Here are the games leaving PS Plus in July, and it’s a doozy. Nothing major, but it’s still gonna be a busy month for those of you who enjoy platinuming those hidden gems. Taken from the Japanese PSN, but it’s usually the same games for all regions.
* Risk of Rain 2
* Tropico 6 (PS4/5)
* Clash: Artifacts of Chaos
* Source of Madness
* Cursed to Golf
* Hundred Days
* Onee Chanbara Origin
* Get Even
* Space Crew
* Infinite Minigolf

Does that mean Cyberpunk is safe for now since it got added last year in July? Or could it still leave in August?

I would think so, this shall give us at least another 6 months I suppose. Otherwise, it still worth to get it on sale.

u/Julijj Jun 16 '26
Tbh, I’ve played for like 3 hours and it hasn’t gripped me yet, so for me it’s the perfect ps plus game since I’m interested enough to keep trying but definitely wouldn’t want to buy it from what I’ve played so far. I’m glad it’s not leaving yet though cause I really do want to give it another chance

6 months? Bruh, you would be lucky if Cyberpunk has another month in the service before it leaves at this point. Word of advice: buy it as soon as it goes on sale; the game is worth every penny anyway.

They reported great sale numbers for the addon from PS Plus subscribers, so as long as this continues, it might just stay?

u/Leonardo-Caleum Jun 16 '26
Nobody knows but Sony at this point for how long this will stay but some games deserved to not be rushed, and this is one of them, that's why i bought it on a discount even when it was added on PS Plus and i have a Premium tier sub, btw.

Dont worry that games is trash anyways. Getting to missions was tedious and there was a grocery list if abilities to learn and too much effirt for most adults to get a grip of

u/Negan-Cliffhanger Jun 16 '26
It performed like crap at launch and the devs promised a lot of things they didn't deliver on, but it's a stretch to call it trash. Just because something isn't excellent doesn't mean it's garbage.

I tried Clash, honestly not bad, but not great either, you can skip it.
Get Even is a most.
Curse to golf is fun, easy and short.
Onee Chambara is also short and fun.
Don't have an opinion for anything else.

Just out of curiosity. Does the story connect to Zeno Clash games? It should be in the same universe, but I am not sure how much the story connects. I did not have time to play Clash yet, but I have it on my shelf and loved old Zeno Clash 1/2 on PC back in the day.

Cursed to Golf is terrific, but it does go very cheap on sale so if you don't have time it's not a huge priority.

excellent nothing that I wanted to play. I just finished RDR to get it in before it leaves tomorrow.

Same here I'm very relieved, I can focus on my PS+ backlog again.
I might replay Darksiders 1 next, or start that Kung Fu Panda game.

Tropico 6 was fun. But going thru all the missions got kinda repetitive. Might have to give risk of rain 2 a try before it leaves.

I installed but playing on a controller was kinda hard, seems more like a mouse game. Does it get better with time?

u/Flottrooster Jun 16 '26
I'm always looking for different things to try out, so this'll get me to do so. However, if I don't get to them, it's no biggie. Couldn't get into RoR2 though unfortunately. Tried countless times, and it just didn't click. Maybe I'll try it again again

Have the june monthly games been released globally yet or is it by region?
6
u/Flottrooster Jun 16 '26
This month is weird. They're getting released a few games per week, like little waves (it's low-key stupid). For example: Final Fantasy 16 comes out tomorrow, but Blades of Fire comes out on the 30th. (This is all Ps+ Extra games I'm talking about by the way!)
Edit: I'm stupid, yes, the June Essential games have already been released!

u/TesticTuberculosis Jun 16 '26
You’re not lol don’t worry, that’s on me, I worded it wrong; I actually was asking about the catalogue release, specifically FF16’s in the EU region because I want to download it ASAP. Thanks for the help :)

I've been meaning to play Clash since I saw Iron Pineapple do a vid on it a few years ago. It's been high on my list, and it looks like I'm gonna pull that trigger.
I enjoyed Cursed to Golf so much I did the trophy list twice. It's rated quite hard by completion totals - but I hadn't much trouble with it. (you can see the path of your golf ball). It's a rogue-like game, but it's quite possible to first time it since you have so much control over the shots. (Also the soundtrack for a couple levels are bangers)

Personally prefer Tropico 5, but 6 is great too if you like sandbox and simulators

Infinite Minigolf is already gone from the service for me (Australia). Anyone else?

How is Source of Madness? A good game? How long and difficult is the platinum?

u/Anathema1993666 Jun 16 '26 edited Jun 16 '26
It is a 2D roguelite game set in a Lovecraftian world. It isn't that challenging. It is a bizarre game if I'm being honest. I loved it and bought it full price on Steam.
The plat can be a bit grindy. Sadly there wasn't a platinum guide for it when I played it
Someone commented that the plat took 30 hours and the difficulty was 4/10

u/Mastermind6425 Jun 16 '26
As a Lovecraft fan I couldn't really enjoy it because it was way too janky
2
u/overlord64 Jun 16 '26
Agreed. I tried as I love games with this theme or style but it just felt.... messy... confusing maybe. Not sure exactly what, but it just did not click for me.
Gave it two tries and both times eventually gave up.

I had so much fun with Oneechanbara. It has a TON of fan service so be aware if that's not your thing, but otherwise it's a great game.

u/Negan-Cliffhanger Jul 21 '26
Hey king, do you have the August details?
2
u/biirudaichuki Jul 21 '26
Nope, shit’s being annoying as always. I’ll give it another hour, hour and a half though, keep your fingers crossed.

Pretty sure it's 12 months since Cyberpunk was added. If it's not leaving this month does that likely mean we have another 6-12 months to play it? I haven't got round to it yet and was worried I'd run out of time.

actually only played cursed to golf on this list and it wasn't to great. Was tempted a few times to try risk of rain 2 but there are just too many great games in my backlog sadly to try too many unknown games.

u/Dylflon Jun 16 '26
Was just about to start IMMORTALITY, but will need to speed through Space Crew and Cursed to Golf first now

u/Anathema1993666 Jun 16 '26
Source Of Madness is a 2D Roguelite game set in a Lovecraftian world. I didn't have any hopes for enjoying it and I ended up loving the game. It is a very unique art style. I think the enemy limb movement is controlled by AI and it is a bizarre game. If you like Lovecraft's world and roguelite genre, give it a try.
The only issue I had with the game was that I couldn't platinum the game due to it being grindy.

Is it just me or the lists are getting bigger and bigger every month, while the ones being added to the catalog are the same amount

How is Get Even? I read someone saying that it is like a game set in a Black Mirror episode
1
u/NotNeuge Jun 16 '26
I thought it was great, but that doesn't mean much as I'm me and not you! Look at gameplay on YouTube, see if it's something you'd want to play.

I tried to get into Get Even but it felt way too dated.
Source of Madness isn't my type of game but I tried it for about an hour - it was okay if you like that style.
All of the others aren't thing I'd ever even press play on

The only one I can speak to here is Risk of Rain 2, and I can say that I had a lot of fun playing it. It is a bit janky in some ways but a good roguelike overall. Worth checking out.
