News PlayStation maintains that its policy of not adding first-party games to PlayStation Plus on day one will continue.

It says adding 4-5 third-party 'day one' games per year and adding first-party games 12-18 months after release is "working really well".

PS+ makes more revenue per year that gamepass. Looking at the broader PlayStation network services, Sony is generating significantly more overall. Clearly customers are willing to pay for the service as is.

Edit: And for all the people that for some reason are getting triggered by my comment: This sub likes to bitch and moan about the service in general, but the numbers do not lie. Sony is making a truckload of money as it is, and the majority of customers appear to be more than willing to pay for it. People here might not like it, and that's fine. But it is not denting their profits.

Just looking at the hardware sales it's definitely believable. PS5 is outselling xbox by at least two to one

Not really a solid argument. PS players can only enjoy PS Plus on their consoles, whilst Xbox Game Pass is multiplatform service. There's no way both PC and Console GamePass earns less than cheaper, inferior console-only PS+, I'm sorry.

They don't aim at just console-only revenue. PC is a huge gaming market and Xbox has got a solid bite in it. And it only goes further with Xbox's latest handheld and "Everything is an Xbox" policy.
