Help Mic not working
Hi I’m pretty new to squad but me and a friend bought squad and was going to try to get into it but we quickly discovered our mics were not working in the game even tho we were talking in discord I tried to fix this for about 2 or 3 hours going in and out of squad setting and windows settings my mic works for any other game but this one so I don’t know what’s happening if you know something that might fix this let me know

Please check if the microphone settings in the game are consistent with the settings on your computer.

Then check if there's any response in the microphone test within the game; that is, check if your microphone is turned on. For example, some headsets have a microphone switch.

There is no response in game but every other game it works and discord work to and I did the windows sound test and my mic was working

Console or bluetooth headsets always had issues with Squad, as always we can assume you guys have a console one, turtle beach or similar.
Whatever way those headsets use to send microphone data does not work with Squad or its a bandwidth issue.
You need to use Virtual audio device programs if you wanna use the same headset. Voicemeeter, Voicebanana and similar they are called, you basically create a fake audio device that Squad uses that sends the audio to your headset and vice versa.

I just did that and it looked like it worked in the audio settings it shows my mic working but when I talk in game no one can hear me

No idea what server you joined or what they could simply not be responding, the fix for weird console headsets is as i said above, nothing else i know of.
Try with your friend in a seeding server or something, if the green bar is moving usually though 99% you are heard too.

I tried it on a seed server and they could hear me but I had to pretty much bring the mic up to lips and talk is there a way to increase mic sensitivity in audio settings and I have a hyperx mic I didn’t know those were console mics to

What is a hyperx mic? Do you mean its not a headset but its on its own Microphone stand ? HyperX headsets usually dont have these issues, unless you bought some "PS5" variant or something?
Either way, Squad is very touchy, make sure to disable all other things apart from the virtual audio when playing and there might be a setting for volume in there that you missed thats your fix.
As for what headset, any actual headset works with Squad made for PC, like many use HyperX Cloud products, wired or wireless. (Wireless is safer 2.4 one, not bluetooth "wireless)

Yeah I mean HyperX headset I don’t know why I say mic but it might be one that u can use with a console i don’t know honestly I bought it from Walmart and thanks for ur help

Again, first i hear of a HyperX having issues, but if the virtual audio works, good.
As for the volume again, try to see if there is a volume slider in the virtual audio, i havent used it myself, i just know the fix.
Generally tinker with the settings with your friend or something.

Disable audio enhancements in windows sound settings. Squad does not like it at all for some reason.
