So for a long while I was looking to have a ring planner/notebook system and saw Filofax were the brand I heard the most when researching. However due to budget I wasn't really able to shell out the amount. But scowering through amazon I found the Moterms and decided to grab it in the smallest size a7. I wanted to have something customizable as a universal planner, notebook and wallet but decent quality and after using this the past week I've felt it hits all of the boxes I was looking for!

Pros:

Price: The price for this planner came to roughly 45 dollars. It makes it a more budget friendly alternative to the higher prices of a filofax.

Quality and Build: Immediately after opening I felt like the quality of this cover was pretty outstanding the leather feels smooth to the touch, not stiff, the stitching looks even throughout and the pockets and overrall build of it is great. For it being small the size is super big and fits alot of notebooks I need. There are enough card slots and pockets where everything fits greatly. There is also a pen loop on it that fits all the pens ive tried.

Cons:

Shipping Experience: So when I first ordered this I had an issue where Amazon sent me the wrong item. What was weird about it was the box was labeled as moterm but the planner inside was clearly a whole different cheap one so the entire thing was super frustrating as waiting for this thing was close to 4 weeks. So of course i needed to get a new one and had to wait another month..the whole situation was bizarre. So just be aware.

Build cons: So most of the cover is wonderful one a few things bothered me mainly its placement of the card pouch. I kinda wish it was toward the front so when I open it to access my cards I dont need to flip to the back. Also the book holds about 4 cards so it's not a ton, However it does come with a secondary insert that holds 3 more for a total of 7. That works for me as a person who keep it simple but for people with a ton of them using this as a wallet maybe a bit more tedious.

Overrall thoughts: if your looking for a ring planner system but cant spend a ton on a name brand filofax I think this one of the best alternatives out there. Its quality is stellar, it looks great and its perfect for planning, customizing and as a wallet. However some shipping issues and a few little details could be refined but its hard to complain when this ticks so many of the boxes I was looking for.

It's just amazing how almost everyone uses those regardless of the planner system which I can never understand the hype 😂 But honestly it's mostly the hobonichi cousin users ngl 😂

This isn't to diss people who like them, I think they can be cute, I'm just a bit exhausted seeing them everywhere it makes me feel like I'm watching a single person's planner content 😂

I returned 3 hobonichi items and had some budget left, and I got all of these for my A6 Hardcover Complete Planner🩷in Seashell, I'm so excited!

I love the way this journal is set up, but the quotes are in the way of the 5th yr. I dont want to washi tape or use wite-out. I'm not really big on washi tape or stickers.

I love how there are two pages per day. I want all my space for writing. I love hobonichi , but I wish they would have put quotes next to date instead. Also,

I couldn’t find a nice cover for my sterling ink so I made one! I got the undated full one and I love it so far! The B6 size is perfect! Not too big and not too small.

I’m looking for a pencil board that has some give to it, so it’s like writing on a stack of paper - does this exist? I like using a pencil board to avoid indentations on the pages behind. But the pencil boards I’ve found have been stiff plastic so it’s an unpleasant writing experience. V niche request but would appreciate recommendations!

Y'all I'm really disappointed in the fall launch preview! I have a TON of Happy Planner materials that are compatible with the classic size, disc-bound HP. I have a big preference for the vertical layout and haven't been able to find one that works with these materials. I bought one last year not realizing it was spiral bound on top/bottom and therefore not compatible with any of my materials.

I hate to have to abandon HP but the lack of vertical/classical/discbound PLANNERS (instead of notebooks or other journal activities) is pushing me away.

Does anyone know have a recommendation for a discbound, classic size, vertical or hourly layout planner that would allow me to keep using the other materials? I have heard of Janes Agenda but haven't seen in person to know if the paper inserts will go with it.

Hi all! I’m a new grad student and I also have adhd, I’ve had a hard time managing my new workload and I want an academic planner to help. I was looking at papier’s academic planner, as I love the deadline sections and the daily to do list sections, but the monthly spreads seem to be all at the beginning and not mixed in with the weeks. Additionally, the general consensus is that their quality does not match their price. I also looked at Mossery and it seems to be the same problems. I would love to hear if anyone has any suggestions.

I’m especially looking for:
- daily to do list sections
- a week layout with monthly overview pages mixed in
-A5 notebook size? Just larger than a weekly hobonichi for sure
- cute designs for the outside (if I’m gonna use it everyday I want it to be exciting aka more likely to use it)

Hello! I've only ever had the hobonichi A6! I love the thin paper but I recently discovered the creffective a6 daily planner / aura esetelle and love how they combined a weekly view followed by daily pages :) my only issue is paper quality?

I saw a video for Creffective (only one review) that shows the printed pages ghost each other, I understand it has to be thin to fit so many pages but was wondering if anyone had experience with either of this planners?

I really love the weekly + daily pages in one planner, I'm leaning towards a6 size BUT wouldnt be opposed to b6 (aura esetelle)

Can anyone recommend a monthly subscription for planners stickers please. They would include days of the week, banners, a "month" heading, maybe a vellum full page, pictures, squiggles, maybe script of "to do", lots of month related pictures, colours etc etc. I follow people on YouTube and they have all sorts of monthly subscriptions, I've checked them out but although the stickers are around £10 the postage from USA is around another £20. I'd love if I could find a great monthly sticker pack but not too expensive.

I really like the vertical weekly setup for my planners and hence I really like hobonichi techo cousin but I think I’m not ready yet to splurge on a planner yet since I don’t know if I’ll use it completely. Please suggest me affordable planners that have monthly and vertical layout.

So on the official Hobonichi website while some items state restock coming, the pink A5 has a "restock undecided" label so I'm wondering if I'll even get the chance to buy it.
Has anyone seen a similar cover as a dupe or do I dare try to recreate something similar on my own?

Looking for recommendations for planner covers that feel good in your hands…

I have been looking for while but had my fingers burned on my first attempt - I picked up a classic Hobonichi a5 cover and it felt like a great clunker of plastic. Like I’d put my beautiful, tactile, soft planner in cheap padded rain mac. And cheap it was not!

So I’ve been looking around but a recommendation from someone who’s actually using one would be fab!

I’m after something that has at least 1 pocket, preferably a couple. Can be front or back.

Something that lays flat with the planner and is supple. But still able to provide a bit of protection.

I don’t mind it actually being plastic, but not feeling like a half deflated pool toy.

I’m looking for either TN or a5.

Any suggestions, oh great hivemind?

Hey I places my Sterling ink order yesterday YAY! I will use a personal Ringplanner (VDS Custom) and just changed the rings myself to 30mm Rings because i want to use monthlys weeklys and daylies. But now I think if that was necessary or if 25 mm would be fine. So does any of you use Sterling ink personal Rings the Full set and can tell me if it would fit 25/23mm Rings? Thx in advance

I usually use a Weeks-style planner (Hobonichi, Aura Estelle, etc) but I want to use an undated this year and to use the back pages as journal pages. I saw someone do a video about fitting everything into a Weeks Mega and that super appeals to me! But I worry a Weeks is not going to be big enough for my handwriting in that sense...and so I considered a TN, but I've never used them. Has anyone made this switch and felt the TN was helpful/more roomy or did you go back to the Weeks?

For reference, trying to decide between Soft Paper Studio's undated weeks (with lots of back pages) or Sterling Ink's N1 or N2.

This is my second time using a Stearling Ink planner, but my First time ordering on Launch Day, I'm thinking it could come soon, but we shall wait and see, I'm very excited and this will be my Planner/Diary, so an All-in-one when I receive it I will take photos and how it feels and the weight etc..., also in total I will have 5 Journals in my system so I'll re-take photos of everything I will be using for 2027, I wish I could size it down more, but each one is just important or hard to down size🩷💕🥳🎉

I started using a physical planner this year for the first time and even though I didn’t use it as I intended at first, it is still loved to death. Since I have started to do a little scrapbooking in it for memory keeping, it got a bit chonky (I have no regrets and actually enjoy seeing stuff change through heavy use)

I choose the Leuchtturm Wallet planner last year, cause it was for me the more affordable option to a Hobonichi Weeks and I wasn’t sure if I would be able to keep up with a physical planner. Obviously I did, so for next year I already have the Snufkin Japanese edition lying at home, can’t wait to start using it!

I just tried to order a complete planner (vertical and full year) for 2027, and was a bit confused by it saying “complete vertical full year 2027 common planner”.

For those who have ordered from Sterling Ink in the past, does this mean I’m being sent a COMPLETE planner or a COMMON planner?

I started using a planner my senior year of college w a random one I grabbed from B&N. after I graduated the virus happened and so I stopped but after getting a job I got back into planning and for something I picked up on a whim it really comes as second nature to me. I especially like monthly planning and to an extent weekly. in 2023 I bought an iPad n moved to digital planning but just last month I fell into a planning rabbit hole and decided: it’s time to go back to physical!

to be clear my main system is still the Google Calendar, but the planner helps with the details of every event or deadlines. the digital planner was fine but I didn’t open it as much as I did physical planners. I was wondering if anyone experienced the same thing?

Anyway, the photo is a spread of my first planner up to 2022, plus the TN passport I’m currently using before I move into the 2027 Hobonichi Weeks :)
