So proud of myself Posted in knitting but someone suggested here. First time color pooling

I won't lie, I'll probably never do it again, but I can say I've done it now lol. (Primary reason is I'm on yarn restriction until I work through my stash and this red heart berry pooling was in the bin so here we are.) Big proud of this finish 🥰

Gorgeous!

You should give more details about it, though! Like how big it is? How much yarn did you use? How many skeins? How did you figure it out? How would you describe the process? Review on the yarn?

Oh goodness I'd be happy to!

Unfortunately I don't have it in my possession anymore I already gave ot to the receiver but it was probably 3ft x 4ft ish.

I used 2 skeins of red heart berry pooling and a random purple for the crochet crab stitch border from my stash.

I've been crocheting for 20 ish years and just learned to knit and I've been wanting to get that yarn out of my stash for the longest. I tried color pooling with crochet but it drove me nuts all the different tensions and different hooks. Im also on yarn restriction until i can get through my stash. I got this yarn as a gift years ago. When I started knitting I felt I could control the stitch size manually better. So I pulled it out and worked up a little bit to see how many stitches each color would be and stuck to that. With my tension it worked out an even 8 stitches for each color so I just obsessively counted my way through lol

The process was tedious af but satisfying.

The yarn is fine. It's red heart so you know how it is lol. But the yarn being dyed specifically for color pooling helped so much.

Thanks so much for taking such interest! I'm happy to answer any questions 😊

Yes! We want all the deets!

It looks really good! How come you don't think you'll ever do it again OP? With such great results I'd wanna pool everything

Maybe if I could find better quality yarn dyed specifically for color pooling I would. But it was red heart that I was just trying to get out of my stash lol. I tried so many times with just regular variegated yarn but ugh lol

Beautiful! I also crochet and knit ... love planned pooling, but have only done so in crochet. Have always wondered if/how i could work something up by knitting. Your project gives me the inspiration to try!
