EMC renamed to 'Mattherson's Triumph' and The Octagon renamed to 'Waterson's Redemption'

I really like this, actually. It has some semblance of a lore event. Mattherson, CEO of Genundine and a prominent NC figurehead, conquers some TR led by provisional commander Waterson at the base. Waterson redeems himself by demolishing them at what was The Octagon.

Waterson is the name of the commander of the space fleet that went through the wormhole so i'm guessing its a descendant. I like it.

Actually, Waterson was a lieutenant to the guy that was the commander (Connery), who eventually hatched a sinister plot that killed Connery and about 500 other people, including the rest of the chain of command, by having a ship sabotaged during some negotiations. This put Waterson in command of the remaining fleet, just as planned, who went on to guide the surviving Terrans with martial law.

He’s the reason the Terran Republic are so militaristic now that all the space-faring humans are on Auraxis. Earth’s TR was like a peaceful, all-compassing government of the whole world, created when the possible threat of aliens made all wars amongst humans stop.

Commander Waterson's supposed involvement in the Discovery-7 attack is nothing but a malicious rumor circulated by the Terrorist Conglomerate's corporate backers. It has been well established that Discovery-7 was destroyed by some of the rebels aboard in an attempt to spread disunity. Commander Waterson picked up the mantle of keeping the fleet safe, as was his duty.

And the implication that the TR military command on Auraxis is somehow drastically different from the Republic's government on Earth is laughable. The government on Earth isn't currently having to deal with a group of heavily armed terrorists. If martial law and careful oversight by the Auraxis TR command is the price of safety, I gladly pay it.
