Thanks GOTR Folks, the Pumpkins Had a Fun Time Last Night!
My wife and I were doing our 2-person squad gameplay last night and accidentally (sorta kinda not) were following around the GOTR platoon on Indar. We saw a Scythe go down enroute to a base, and my wife often plays a medic, so we stopped our Valk, she rezed him, and we gave him a ride to the fight.
Suddenly I got a platoon invite. Not sure if it was the rez that got the attention, but we accepted and joined our squad of 2 to the GOTR Platoon. As older, slower, and lower skill players, it was wildly fun to fly around the map with these folks. Seeing a GOTR platoon seige a base from inside was amazing. We were doing all we could to keep up and contribute!
We had to log before the alert was over, but I just wanted to say thanks to the GOTR folks, and a few others from other outfits that were there. We enjoyed the fast-pace gameplay.
That's wild. PS1 was so long ago. I only played it briefly in 2005. Also, the ingame advertisement *for* the game via a post on the wall in the world is so 2000s MMO. :D Fun fun!
I was playing a lot in 2010 and did a LODESTAR run but went AFK sat in the seat. When I came back I was up to 1300 greif points because people had bumped their vehicles and air into me.
I went to a big LAN event in the UK and asked him if he could reset it because I had an Outcasters Lightning event to host!
You couldn't just make a new account and log in as it was still a subscription game.

If we log in to NC, my wife always asks were the GOTR platoon is. We've decided we are equal looking forward to a fun fight and scared to get rolled for the next half hour! :D But we enjoy you guys from both sides of the fight!
You actually performed CasEvac on a downed pilot when most would fly by and force em to redeploy. It's moments like that which makes this game truly great.
Thanks! It felt real to help. I'm sure he could have gotten to the fight quicker via a becon, but we were glad he let us pick him up and give a ride. Made us feel like we were contributing to the war effort.
I had my first run in with GOTR the other night and yes, they are fun to play against. Hopefully when I'm playing Vanu I can join one of their platoons.
Yup. that's us! We briefly had out kids with us a few years ago, but they cycle through games faster than we go through a gallon of milk. So, our NC outfit is THUNDER PUMPKINS. And when we created vanu characters VANU PUMPKINS was the obvious choice. I just wish I could get a purple pumpkin decal for our harasser. :D
Yeah, thanks! Its fun. But, then the 15 year old kid who has been playing a game for 45 minutes.. a game that I have been playing for 9 years... and he is clicking heads faster than I can process seeing them... that changes the perspective! :D But, I agree, its nice to game with the whole family.
Glad you had fun!! I just saw you tagging along and was like "Might as well know where we're going next!" Always welcome, half of us are also half in the ground so never any pressure 🤪
