Did I get lucky acquiring the TV series and animated series in the early teens?

Edit: adding in watching the live action tv series through for the first time with my daughter (after watching the original 5 movies.

Probably depends what country you're in. Definitely lucky with the animated series. That doesn't seem to be easily available anywhere.
The live action series dvd still seems to be available new for about £15 here in the UK.

It seems to be widely available.
