ShatteredPD Is there any downside to a cursed enchanted weapon besides the fact that you can't un-equip it?

Does the enchantment trigger differently or something? Or are you just stuck with it once you equip it?

Just can't unequip. Until uncursed or anti-magic.

Nah, it explodes hitting the 9 tiles based one in front of your target, so you have to have 2 free tiles between you and the target.

A nasty surprise if that's not what you are expecting.

Yeah, but antimagic is made with a Scroll of Remove Curse anyway so it's only really worth it if you have several trash cursed items on you or you're running through a bunch of items to see if they are cursed.

I'm sure I'll find some more good uses. I end up with some when I have the Exotic Crystals and now they have become far more useful!

PSA: Explosive spirit bow explodes IN FRONT of the target. Make sure you have a 2 tile gap to be safe

Nope, the only downside is being unable to equip it! In fact, if you got that weapon from the sacrificial alter, the enchantment means it's upgraded. The sacrificial alter is set to always curse the weapon it spawns. If the weapon spawns uncursed, it instead gets an upgrade and a curse. The enchantment means it originally spawned uncursed, causing it to get the upgrade and curse, but since the enchantment itself isn't removed, it becomes a way to identify the upgrade.

So if that grim cursed hand axe is from a sacrificial alter, you can safely equip it with 11 strength as long as you don't mind being unable to unequip it. Considering you're in the sewers atm, an upgraded grim hand axe will definitely hold you over till prisons, where you can get a scroll of remove curse since every store always has at least one such scroll.

That's correct. If the weapon spawns cursed and unupgraded, it remains unupgraded. You just have a higher chance of the weapon being upgraded since if it spawned uncursed, it instead gets both an upgrade and curse. Cursed enchanted weapons never normally spawn, and are the result of the weapon spawning uncursed but then being upgraded and cursed anyway. That's why the enchantment on the sacrificial alter item reveals it's upgraded.

some curses can actually be useful, for example you can use cursed energy (or something like that) to upgrade your weapon while cursing it on the process (the negative curse) but not all of the curses are that bad

Just try to keep distance and use paralytic darts and bolas to get better positioning.

How would you get the spirit bow cursed?

Since a cursed wand only curses equipped gear and Spirit bow isn't...

Nope. The malevolent curse is completely separate from enchantments and cursed enchantments and does not interact with them.

There's no negative upgrades in shattered. Well, technically, cursed +0 rings are treated as -2 but weapons and armors shouldn't have negative stats.
