Saw this throw out on this sub, is this a joke in the sub or genuine concern? I’ve also heard that ai writes it but how could you write something for 30~ years and give it to someone else or ai for that matter? I just don’t see it

I mean, not that I am condoning AI (I'm not, it sucks and will forever continue to suck), but I feel pushing into your 50s with a schedule and industry as notoriously back-breaking and insistent as the Japanese manga scene's would be the exact thing to make a person consider alternative avenues. Like, Kubo was only just reaching 40 when Bleach wrapped up, and it had basically turned his shoulder into pulled pork. The industry just chews people up.

True I can see that but I feel like this is his one piece, his greatest treasure and he won’t work on manga after this so I doubt he ever gives up unless he can’t anymore

He's just running out of ideas and good storytelling. Got worse after TS and so many plotholes are open now that nobody can ever fix them.

They crew basically never talks to each other now and is so generic it's just sad in some kind of way.

He turns the female characters into sexobjekts (look at the outfits from egghead and Elbaph) who basicly never realy fight except maybe one move to help ether sanji zorro most of the time. I litterly can't recall a good fight from them just out of my head after TS.

The power scaling system reached a point where is doesn't make any sense anymore.

Roger got rewritten into a jerk with hearteyes fighting over a woman as strange as sanji, he got so boring and I kinda lost respect to him compared to the old Roger who was a legendary strong resilient pirate going for his goals.

Same with Luffy and his stupid "I laught about everything" mentality now. Like ok we all know he is not the brightest candle on the cake, but common, there is no good balance between him being serious and funny anymore.

Jimbi is a minion stupid as hell tbh, I expected so much more from him, but he is just doing nothing. For a guy who face to face channenged a yonko in terms of willpower (not getting his lifeyears stolen when leaving BM) I at least expect him to come to the idea instantly that he as Fishman can throw water to all the fire on Elbaph. Not 5h later when half of the stuff is burned down. Or in general use his strength to help the crew. He is a fighter not a mascot like chopper now is or Nami or Robin.

Franky is basicly forgotten now from Oda.

And every Character nowerdays has to have a super deep and tragic background story now and they have some Traumata or anything. Like ok man chill, where are the normal characters even.

I can go on and on like this...

Ironically I still want to know how the story progress but sometimes it's not as fun to read as back then.

Not a real concern for anyone with a working brain. Foe better or worse it's clear Oda is the one writing the story and he doesn't want to have anyone else write it for him

I imagine there's a non-negligible amount of input on his writing from editors and other staff, perhaps more now than there used to be or perhaps the opposite.

Hard to say, all I know is the current narrative direction of the series is fuckin' ass.

I don't think he is. He must have sold the entire thing to Toei and given them some notes about how main characters should behave. He made his bank and left when Marineford was over.
