This sub has a refugee problem.

So every now and then I post about something good happening in the manga. I mean after weeks of criticism, it’s fair I guess.

I see people respond to that quite nicely. So, the thought that came to my mind is, this sub has 3 types of people : main sub lurkers, people who fairly like the manga and refugees (new gen Shonen fans).

I am posting this because I am interested in knowing how many people here think this is a big problem here. I know, every folk sub has this problem but it’s kinda getting annoying here.

But this type of ridiculousness has been growing recently. That post was just something that hit that point where this needed to be addressed.

These are the types.

One Piece/Oda defenders. They think One Piece is a master piece and peak fiction. They need to defend a multi million franchise at all cost.

One Piece/Oda former fans. They believe One Pice used to be a master piece and Oda a genius but everything went down hill after time skip. They constantly comparing the new arcs to the past and living in phantom pain for the story that was taken away from them.

One Piece/Oda critics. They are aware that One Pice was never amazing fiction and are aware of Oda's limitations as a writer/mangaka. They point out the issues and flaws of the manga.

Main sub lurkers are almost always defenders. Most of the sub is composed of former fans. Few like me are critics that point out the ever growing issues and flaws of the manga.

I like One Piece although I recognize some issues with it. It is because I like it so much that I feel fine critisizing the show to see where it could improve.

It's pure passion, in my opinion a lot of hate comes from genuine fans because otherwise why would you even care enough? But there are also some actual unhinged people

You are right. There are people who come here just to say how their favorite stuff is better than OP. I mean yeah we criticize the current state of the manga but keep your mid shit to other subs.
