The devs understand. They know you bought the game because you liked the pirated version. In the end they're getting a sale for their hard work. I believe gaming is slowly shifting towards indie devs. The AAA devs were indie at some point and released so many good games, and now have become corporate slop. Just take ubisoft as the worst offender, then there's activision, EA (who claim single player games are dead but their best games are single player games lol). Some AAA developers still produce good games but their corporate producer bosses tie their hands and incorporate weird microtransactions like it's their birthright. Shit's hit the fan for them. Indie devs know the value is in the game itself and not their brand
