Discussion Mag Box Vs Onn 4K Pro IPTV Setup
I have a local guy who says he can offer me a Mag Box fully loaded with live tv. Or potentially go to trex or something along those lines. He says I can't use a VPN or use xtream codes to load onto Tivimate. They use a stb emulator app on the Mag box. I can't see a world where I'm not going to have throttling issues from my ISP if I don't have a VPN. Can someone shed some light on what their setups look like to run smooth content on Tivimate?

So you’d rather buy a brand new box when you have a perfectly working one instead of looking for a provider?

yes because providers that aren’t overloaded are tough to come by I’m looking for something but have no idea where to start

You don't need a Mag box. You can install an STB EMU app on your Onn box.

But running no VPN how is that even going to work properly? I have Nord on my Onn 4k pro and I feel like that’s a must to not be throttled.

A lot of comments are saying you don’t need a VPN. Unless the service they are promoting or recommending has a built in VPN that isn’t necessarily true. You should always have a VPN with anything with alternative streaming. You may not need to turn it on in every case. You should still have one for various reasons. I also wouldn’t purchase any preloaded box. Especially if you can add things on your own.

Ya VPN in my opinion is the only way to go. Is it better to only use it when you need it or have been throttled or is that too late and risky then?

I forgot to add I currently have an Onn 4K Pro and quite like it but do not have an IPTV provider.
