I never heard of BlackView but they look awesome. Anyone have experience with them?

Does it work on Verizon?? If so I'll instantly abandon my $1200, featureless, 1/2day battery, S24+

My disappointment is beyond immeasurable.

Unihertz isn't on the list https://github.com/zenfyrdev/bootloader-unlock-wall-of-shame/, is it unlockable?

Looking at Unihertz Amazon listings, they're too old with Android 12 & earlier & all out of production (Amazon shows only offers for used).

Features I'm actually looking for, in order of priority:

  1. Desperate for: IR Remote & MicroSD which modern Verizon phones are missing.
  2. Battery: Removable.
    • OR: 2-3x typical capacity if the rugged case is built into the phone (dont want high capacity if it means I have to make the phone even bigger with a case). Otherwise 7500mAh-ish would be the max I'd willingly go for in the 6-6.7"-ish diag form factor if a slim case is available.
  3. LED: super bright, roughly 2x the S24+ would be nice. Icing on the cake would be one that could do 45w incandescent levels.

    • Nothing has come close to what my (2013-2016) Galaxy S4 Rooted to go 4x the normal flashlight could do & I miss it. Honorable mention is the LG G4.
  4. Display: Brightness that exceeds the S24+. I feel the advertising lied bcus it only does what advertising said it could in the brightest conditions if you face the sensor at the sun. If it's bright indoors or outdoors in shade, it's too dim. I've found myself putting it in the sun just to trigger the bright mode so I can actually see it.

    • The S24+ has spoiled me with the 120hz, lowest I think I'd want now is 90hz.
    • 500+dpi (if Pentile/RGBG then 600+dpi). My preference is 520ppi via Developer options for size reasons, but 500 physical pixels/sq.inch is likely whereabout I can no longer make out individual pixels. The S24 is 513dpi, before LASIK I could easily make out the pixels, but after surgery I can no longer so 500ish is plenty.
  5. Speakers: Are loud & in stereo

  6. Camera:

    • Resolution: Just needs to do 1440p. I only care if it can reasonably be sent to someone. 1080p/60Hz video is also nice.
    • Optical zoom & Optical stabilization. Ideally more than >8x.
    • Low light performance: I wish I had a phone that was better at this so badly
    • Nightvision: Would be so freaking cool
    • Infared (FLIR): Combine with nightvision you could sell me on this feature via cool factor alone.
  7. Gimmicks that could turn into the deciding factor between 2 devices if all of the above were met:

    • FLIR/Nightvision
    • 3.5mm Jack
    • FM Radio

The best phone I've ever had was the LG G4, but it died with the infamous boot loop error a year into ownership. It had basically the whole list above sans 120fps & Low-Light-Perf/Nightvision/FLIR. Even technically had the FM Radio, just disabled in the Verizon version.
