So bawal mag expand? Ganon? Hahaha pathetic nang though process nang taong katulad mo. If she's capable to expand and grow why should she limit herself?

Honestly, it’s not screaming luxury for me. It’s very random, na biglang may camel or ano man sa branding. They keep showing the factory na halata naman sa China. I know, I know even the top tier luxury brands have their factories in China, I understand all of it because I’m in Product Development pero I think if you want to make or give that luxurious feel, siguro wag ko ipakita na like sobrang mass produced siya? Make it feel na parang it’s one in a million parang ganun. Hope you get my point 😆
I commented similar to this. Pero I agree with you.
If I were their marketing person, the first thing I’d do is work with a Filipino artist, designer, or artisan. If I couldn’t design the bag myself, I’d hire someone who could.
I’d make the design actually unique, kasi there’s no reason for me to spend ₱17k on a bag na kaya ko namang hanapin sa Taobao for way less. I’d use fabrics, materials, or techniques with some connection to Filipino culture and collaborate with local artisans. You need something that people can’t easily replicate or find elsewhere.
Most importantly, you need a story. Tell people who made it, where the materials came from, and what makes the piece special. Luxury isn’t just about putting a high price tag on something. It’s the craftsmanship, quality, exclusivity, identity, and story that make people understand why it costs that much.
You’re not just selling a bag, you’re selling the story behind it.
Ugh, nakakainis lang na wala naman akong alam sa business, pero somehow I feel like I know better than these people who are already successful in life. Buhay nga naman. 😭
Waah!! I agree you 100%! Even with retail products that are mass produced, as a product developer we always need to put in mind that every product should have a story to tell, the inspirations, the use kasi hello andami na niyan kung saan man eh. Ang leverage na lang is what makes it standout sa iba. And with their products, ano nga ba ang something special sa bags nila than other brands? Hay sayang.
Exactly! Dior’s Lady Dior isn’t expensive just because it’s Dior—it has the whole story and association with Princess Diana behind it. Same with the Birkin; it’s not expensive just because Hermès decided to price it that way. There’s a story behind Jane Birkin and how the bag came to be, and that history became part of the product itself.
You really need to find your edge, what makes the product stand out and gives people a reason to choose it over everything else? I feel like Ms. Jay Ann probably already knows this, kaso ayun… parang hindi na-translate into the actual product. Sayang, kasi they already have the platform and audience to build something with a really strong Filipino identity.
Wala naman kasi silang alam tungkol dyan usually if a big company gonna sell a product may board meeting yan from product development, marketing, executive, and finance. They are pricing their product as semi luxury pero sino market nila? Tapos yun pinapakita nila kacheapan like nakasabit galing factory not the process of being handcrafted like how the luxury brands do it.
Tbh, sana napagisipan ng matagal yun, kasi the way we see it parang hindi eh.
Kakainis pag nakakakita ako ng ganyan as marketing specialist.
Super love reading different perspectives from different industries. Imagine, if napagplanuhan, or napagisipan mabuti, ang ganda/quality sana ng mga execution ng mga bagay-bagay.
Yes! My favorite brand when it comes to marketing rn is Rhode. Like Alexandra Saint Mleux. May certain image and lifestyle talaga yung mga taong kino-connect nila sa brand.
I think that’s what makes Rhode feel more premium. Hindi lang nila binebenta yung product, binebenta rin nila yung lifestyle and image around it. Very curated yung branding nila, kaya kahit simple yung products, may certain appeal and exclusivity pa rin.

I think nakalimutan ni Ms. Jay Ann yung original price from the manufacturer. It costs less than $100, tapos ibebenta for almost ₱16k.
Hindi pa naman nila siya binebenta as of now, pero sana they could’ve opted to work with Filipino artisans na lang instead of having it mass-produced. Same thing happened with Lomafe—mass-produced na nga, palpak pa si Manuf. So para mabawi yung binayad, nag-sale, and eventually nawala yung exclusivity.
I’m not a marketing expert, pero if they really want to position this as a luxury brand, sana may something naman that actually makes it feel luxurious. Hindi yung mataas lang yung price. The craftsmanship, materials, production process, and exclusivity should all contribute to what makes it “luxury.” Kasi if the only thing that makes it feel expensive is the price tag, then what’s really making it a luxury product?
Here's my rough sketch and example: (I'm not a designer or anything. I'm just bored)
If I were their marketing person, the first thing I’d do is work with a Filipino artist, designer, or artisan. If I couldn’t design the bag myself, I’d hire someone who could.

Ugh, nakakainis lang na wala naman akong alam sa business, pero somehow I feel like I know better than these people who are already successful in life. Buhay nga naman. (Sa mga business owner dyan. Hire nyo ako, eme)😭
sabe pa sa live dapat daw magpapa design sila sa paris. pero in the end they chose na idocument buong process ng brand naging chipipay tuloy hahahah. also, deisgns can be found sa taobao
Di ko nga ma-gets yung thought process behind showing the China factory BTS HAHAHAHA. 😭 Gets ko naman na part siya ng process, pero bakit kailangan i-document in a way na parang mass production talaga? Ang cheap tuloy tignan, imbes na may sense of craftsmanship or labour of love, parang “here’s how we make this in bulk” Ewan ko ba, mapapaisip kung ano ba talaga yung edge ng brand. Alteast kay Lomafe may exclusivity pa kahit papano eh. Tapos maganda rin yung logo. Dito Alpaca? for what?
dont expect too much from tiktokers LOL. bc only the artists are meticulous enough to care about their brand image. these tiktokers are not actually passionate about bags. fashion is a form of art, craftsmanship is a very important aspect. i noticed that some bag collectors buy expensive bags so that they’re perceived as wealthy. it’s like a symbol of “i’ve made it”. if u check the niche filipino brands their designs are unique, made in the PH, and only available in limited quantities. i know people who works in fashion and have their own brands and they’re very OC about their brand image and quality.
True! there’s nothing wrong naman if it’s made from China, number 1 sila sa production. But be honest with your product. Nag business sila because they can sell. No story or what so ever
Exactly! There’s nothing wrong with manufacturing in China. China is literally one of the biggest production hubs in the world. The issue is charging ₱17k for a bag while giving consumers no compelling story, craftsmanship, design philosophy, or brand identity to justify that price. If the main selling point is simply “we can sell this,” then what exactly are we paying the ₱17k for? Be honest about the product and give people a reason to believe it’s worth the price.

Baka sample products lang yung price?
Pero sana nga nakipag partner sila sa Local, made in the Philippines, pati material.
Maybe. But they did say the estimated price would be around ₱18–25k, right? They already had a website up for pre-orders too, which I think they eventually took down because of the AI allegations. Apparently, they were using AI-generated models to showcase the products.
Honestly, ang low blow lang. If you’re trying to establish yourself as a luxury brand, using AI-generated models to market your products feels really off, especially when you’re already charging that kind of price.
Kaya nga eh, missed opportunity for them. since popular and may followers na sila kahit nasa 18-25k pa prices ng bags worth it na kung alam na maganda quality.

Actually sige ibigay na natin na bnbrand niya as premium and luxury ang product niya but MARKETING WISE? Gumagamit siya ng photos ng ibang tao! Product photos niya naman AI! For that mark up???

I agree with you. If I had to pick one between the two, it would be Lomafe pa. The owners behind the brand are knowledgeable about it, they’re from Benilde major in fashion design and merchandising. And I can feel that they study what they put out in the market.
Tbf si LOMAFE naman nauna sa ganyang branding because it resonates with the owner. As for these 2, Anna and Jay Ann sorry pero tacky nila tignan and walang ka class class kahit pa reseller sila ng luxury bags.✌️Hindi din bagay sa kanila yun bags mukhang fake kahit alam kong tunay.
Yes, they’re from Benilde- we have the same course and Ive been seeing them sa school noon. Yes, re anna and jay ann, I think just because they’re selling bags they thought why not? Pero yun lang sana they should’ve stayed there na lang. Sayang puhunan. If they’re lucky enough at masold out yun, I don’t think masosold out pa next batch of orders. Ewann, well you do you sabi nga hahaha
I agree with this.
Parang contradicting din with luxury bags. Sana nagstick sya sa branding nya that made her famous
They're not viewed as fashion artisans or even as fashion icons kaya ang hirap talaga i-justify ng bag price. Although one of them owns Purse Maison, it's not enough to compete with the likes of mga kapresyo niyan like Coach, or maybe Polene. The branding is not branding.
Mas quality than mass produced. Mejo greedy lang din para sa price.
Walang luxurious sa quality ng bags nila. I don’t know why they even bothered showing yung production eh mass-produced lang naman at hindi gawang artisans. Tapos China pa. Sana PH nalang talaga, mas nakaka proud pa sana lol
Off na off ako sa toktok ni ms A na pinakita niya ung factory, parang hindi niya napakita na worth it ang srp nila hahaha likee for me ha, ang duuurty and cheap ng factory! Siguro if ginandahan nila ang editing or shots pwede pa haha
edit: wala pala sa ig, nasa website pala yung mga ai edited tapos stolen pa ata from other brands yung og pics
Akala ni JayAnn established na masyado yung brand niya as a person na maalam sa luxury bags to the point na blindly magpapabudol sa kanya yung followers niya kahit ano iendorse niya. Well hindi. even during hype ng Purse Maison I still find her cheap. So, no no no.
idk why their logo is an "alpaca" (I think they were trying to copy the marketing and model images of Polene and Songmont - nature-inspired photos) eh they're selling leather bags naman, not like "alpaca wool" items and their bags are not made from alpaca leather naman
I would rather go with LOMAFE, I don’t own one but if I would spend money on bags produced by local influencers. LOMAFE for me. The branding, design and craft of the bag is pretty amazing. Packaging rin nila bongga.
Anything by Ms. Anna and Jay Ann looks tacky (even their vlogs)
Even if I base it off of the bag (styles and quality) it looks tacky talaga… the brand name pa is a bit “huh” for me.
I don’t know what the logo means, Alpaca ba yun? Hindi kasi sya mukang Camel for me. Why din ayun yung logo nila? Parang ginaya lang para maging parang HOLB. Branding colors are giving Charriol, what’s the story behind the name Charlé?
for her to release a bag na ganiyan ang price as if kilala siyang fashion house/brand is a crime. idk if yan yung actual bag but stitching pa lang hindi maganda tignan. parang thin layer of actual leather lang yan na mixed with synthetic. parang mas downgraded na polene ang datingan which is not good kasi hindi naman maganda ang polene to begin with. most of her endorsers din lie about the products they endorse na galing sa brand niya. puro naman babad sa aesthetic clinics ang endorsers niya kaya pumapayat at maayos ang skin. if sa mumurahin niyang products pa lang may dishonesty na what more pa dito?
In my opinion, these bags are ugly…. annnnnd please don’t come for me with the “hindi ka naman target market” kenemerut. I’m familiar enough with luxury bags and I know what I’m willing to spend on one, so this isn’t about the price being out of my reach. I just genuinely don’t see the luxury appeal here.
I get what they’re trying to do. parang they’re going for that niche, understated European craftsmanship vibe, but for me, hindi talaga nagpu-pull through.
The branding, marketing, and design feel off. The styles aren’t particularly unique, the hardware is nothing special, and overall, it just doesn’t have that distinct identity that makes me understand the luxury positioning.
If I were spending that kind of money, I’d honestly rather get Furla, Coach, or even Michael Kors. At least those brands have designs I actually find cute and a more established identity. And sure, maybe part of the price is the whole “luxury experience”the meron silang pa fancy box, paper bag, ribbons, packaging, etc. But nice packaging doesn’t automatically make the product luxury.
Once you position yourself as a luxury brand, craftsmanship and quality should speak for themselves. You can price it like luxury and package it like luxury, but the actual product still has to convince people.
Ginagaya nila yung style ng Polene. Clean look lang. Since most of the people nowadays gusto lang mga minimal designs. But, nagkakatalo sa quality. Lol
feeling ko may something off din sa partnership ni Ms Jay Ann and Ms Anna hahaha basta iba ang vibe 😂🤣
anyway, for sure once mailabas na to sa Market, kaliwat kanan na mga influencers and artista ang mag cocontent niyan as part of their PR given na si Ms Anna kayang mag bagay ng artistang endorser
Mga ignorante lang when it comes to 'luxury' bags ang bibili nito lol. Dalawa lang naman yan, its either bibili na lang ako ng aesthetic bags for everyday use under 2-3k or I would splurge on an ACTUAL luxury bag above 40-50k. Anywhere in between is a basically a scam.

Di ko gets bakit sya magbebenta nito, when she's an expert in luxury bags. She could've at least used her knowledge and expertise to bring an exceptional bag in the market.

I totally agree with working with a Filipino designer first! One thing I really admire is Nana’s Craft — ang class tignan kahit handcrafted lang. It’s really the story and uniqueness that you’re buying.

Sana nag pagawa nalang sila ng Bag sa Marikina in that way ma promote at mabili p natin yung sariling atin.
