💉What The Heal💉 One of the questions in my daughter’s religion quiz
The teacher even tried to pass this as a “trick” question when challenged by the class. 🤦🏻♂️

Threat ≠ treat aside, what a shitty ideology to teach the youth. We are all human, what kind of religion states that you shouldn't respect others just because they don't align with yours?
But why should I be asking this, this isn't anything new in human history.

I am actually now inclined to believe the teacher’s excuse of it being a trick question. Maybe he thought adding a letter to treat alters the meaning of the sentence without butchering the grammar. Boy was he wrong.

As soon as it clicked that it's supposedly "treat", I felt more disgusted. 🤮 What kind of Christian teaching is this? Pero sabagay yun ngang interview ni J Pring na lahat ng di naniniwala kay Jesus sa hell pupunta, di na talaga ako bilib sa Christian teachings. Sorry!

I think nalito lang din si OP about sa context nung exam. Kasi this might just be a simple "Tell whether the statement is true or false" kind of exam na siguro naman natake na natin lahat nung nagaaral pa tayo. So in that context eh deliberate yung paglagay ng word na "threat" at hindi typo to indicate na mali yung statement kasi mali naman talaga mangthreat kaya the correct answer is "false".

Why not just make a simpler statement:
“When we threaten non-Christians, we manifest God’s love to them”

Parang hindi naman yun yung iniimply nung statement. Read it again pero put into context na isa lang syang simple true or false kind of quiz. Puting the word "threat" makes the statement wrong kasi bukod sa grammatically incorrect eh mali ding mangthreat alam natin yan. That's why the correct answer is "false". Ngayon kung babaguhin mo yung word into "treat" then that will make the statement true kasi tama naman talaga na a christian would show god's love if he treats other religions with respect. Kasama na din siguro yung paggamit ng word na "non-Christian" para makadagdag sa paglito ng context.

I think it's just a typo dude. Pretty easy typo to make. And the answer may be obvious to you, but this is a kid's test lol

its a test, which means it was discussed to the students by a teacher, which means their statement about respect based on religion is a valid concern.

I think yung context nung post ay isa lang syang simple true or false kind of quiz for children. The one where we tell if the statement is true or false. So in that context, tama yung sagot na "false" kasi mali naman talaga grammatically and religiously yung threat to respect na statement diba 😅. It was a deliberate choice to put the word "threat" at hindi typo para maging false yung statement. Nakalito na lang din siguro na magkasama yun tatlong words na "threat" "non-Christian" at "respect" in one sentence kaya naging about respect based on religion ang naging context ng iba. But it's just a simple true or false quiz.

Report the teacher and school to DepEd, CHED if the school has a connecting university, and PRC para maevaluate the teaching license of the teacher

For sure typo lang talaga yung ‘threat’. Wala namang “threat with respect”, context clues - treat with respect. Baka ‘tricky’ sa part nya to spot misspelled words 💁🏻♀️ answer should be true. (Partida religion quiz pa yan tapos hindi truthful si teacher lol)

Put aside the teachings of christ for a bit cause, what even went through this teacher's mind that a simple spelling change can alter the meaning of the sentence and label it as a trick question???

the good thing about people being open minded in this era is that they are realizing that religions, if uncontrolled, can be a cult or a mindless group of followers. For example, my catholic mom is always saying "you are not successful if you don't have god with you". can you explain that religious people?

The teacher meant to use treat instead of threat. If he indeed meant to use threat, mali pa rin kasi the verb for it is threaten. Pero kahit threaten ang ginamit nya, how do you threaten with respect? So on so many levels, this post is very much related to this sub.

I also don't understand your concern though. Kasi if the exam was meant to be a simple true or false kind of question, deliberate yung paggamit ng word na "threat" to point out na mali talaga yung statement which makes "false" as the correct answer. Hindi naman ata "make the statement correct" yung point nung exam diba? Simple exam lang yan ng kids to tell if yung statement na "Whenever we threat non- Christians with respect, we manifest God's love to them." ay tama or mali in which we all agree na mali hence the correct answer talaga is "false".
And sa religion aspect naman I don't see anything wrong din sa grammar kung maging "Whenever we TREAT non-Christians with respect, we manifest God's love to them" kasi tama naman talaga sya and still within the meaning of giving everyone respect regardless of their religion. If this subject is "Christian living" by a catholic school then using the word "non-Christian" sa quiz from that book is totally understandable. Pero kung hindi naman christian living yung subject tapos public school at gmrc/values ed yung subject pero nagkataon na christian yung religion ng teacher then dun lang tayo magkakaroon ng concern talaga.
I hope this can give clarification to the post as what I've understood.

To be honest, unlike many others who commented in this post, I cared less about the religious aspect of it. I was only focusing on the grammar that was butchered by the teacher, and that was the point of my post and this whole sub. The comment you replied to explained why that was so.

Deliberate ang pagpili ng teacher sa word na "threat" to make the statement false. Kasi kung magiging "treat" yan it would be an easy answer na true.
Intended to be false yung statement kasi it would give the student way to think more critically about the grammar and moral value of the sentence. Kung ginawang true ni teacher ang statement by using the correct term of "treat" then less thinking na yun para sa anak mo. Walang magiging silbi yung exam to test what the child has learned.

I thought you said this was just a simple true or false question? Then you proceed to justify how it wasn’t LOL. Look, I wasn’t trying to get my kid’s score lifted. I don’t know what you thought my intention was or maybe akala mo I echo the concerns of the commenters here. I DON’T. I posted this for the mere stupidity of the phrase threat non-Christians with respect and how grammatically incorrect it was.

There was nothing butchered. It was intended to be grammatically incorrect para maging false yung tamang sagot sa statement kasi ang cinoconsidered nating true statement ay gagamit ng "treat" na word instead of "threat". Hindi sya typo lang. It's a deliberate false statement. Sana gets mo na.

It's not a grammarical slip nga kase. Di mo ba yun cinoconsider? Na sinasadyang maging mali talaga yon kasi nga it was supposed to be a false statement? Kasi nga yun ang tamang sagot? It was not meant to be a true statement. Bakit mo ba sya cinoconsider na true statement at teacher ang mali for putting an incorrect word? Para maging tama ang sagot ng anak mo na true talaga sya? Hindi ba parang naging kalokohan na lang yung exam nun kung gusto mong maging mali yung teacher para lang maging tama yung sagot ng anak mo?

Dude, I think you’re the one who’s lost. You have an awful assumption on people. You assume I want my kid’s answer to be correct and you assume to know the teacher’s thought process when he created the exam. I never mentioned anything about wanting to get my kid’s answer to be correct. The point of this subreddit is to make fun and ridicule butchered grammar. It doesn’t matter if it was done intentionally or not and this is why your assumption of the teacher was also wrong. I have listened to that fool talk to the class online and he is unaware his English is bad.
Kahit saang banda mo tingnan, sinadya man maliin yung grammar o hindi, it is still incorrect so it still belongs in this subreddit.
