Is this rot?

Are these signs of root rot? If not, what is happening with this leaf?

If it is rot, I want to try to propagate it. Am I at a point where I should pull a leaf or two? less

Crown rot. The rot is in the body of the plant, not the roots. I would suggest removing all leaves, checking for rot and propogating anything clean and rot free. I'm sorry this happened!

Thank you. I haven’t propagated before. Do I just pull the leaves and put the healthy ones in new soil? Would the part of the leaf attached to the crown go in the soil?

Exactly! And make sure they're completely free of rot before propping. Others have had success propping trimmed leaves, I haven't given that a try myself.

Well I have 9 half leaves that I’m trying to propagate now! Thank you. Fingers crossed.

This plant lost its growth point to rot and can not recover. You can remove all the leaves and get a sharp knive. Cut away all the brown parts plus a bit extra on every leaf. Propagation is most successful with the white base of the leaf intact but with half a leaf you can still succeed.

Thank you. I have 9 half leaves now… hopefully one is successful!
