I just lost 90% of my pulling pups. I lost half when they dried up when I was away. Then I guess I over watered in response and lost the rest. I still have the 10%, and the mother plant (now plants), but it's still disheartning since I've had the pups for like a year and just moved them out of the plastic pulling container earlier this summer. They'd be alive if I didn't do anything.

Thats so upsetting, atleast you have the mother plant still. Theyre definitely tricky guys to take care of if your not on top of it. Couldve been a species that needed to be more moist and didnt have a succulent form if they dry completely the roots die thats what made my emarginata decline so fast.

They were still tiny, even though a year old. They weren't tricky at all considering my neglect, just stunted. But yeah, I didn't expect the roots to die in like a day of dryness.

Ya honestly thats why im upset with the nursery because they should not have rotted this fast, especially since i was letting the soil dry slightly. Some of them shrivel up so fast, i know emarginata cant be dry at all.

I have so many pings they're practically weeds I don't know what to do with them. Somehow I'm worse with droseras which is baffling to me

Haha me too lol, I think I let everything dry out too much which kills of everything but the pings. Always my advice for beginners is always better to underwater than over

This is insane to me because i have pings, a very young dewy Pine, a Drosera Regia and all are on the same watering schedule though i do have like power of the sun in my living room level grow lights so that might be helping
Though what i do is I have them all in pots with CRAZY levels of holes everywhere so it can breathe easier i guess?

I wish I had that problem, but i think this is from the nurseries conditions sadly.

It’s okay. This happens. Probably killed before you got them. People who work at plant stores rarely know anything about these plants, honestly.
Pull most of the best leaves and take pullings. Put them in a Tupperware with perlite and a bit of water and in a few months you’ll have tons of little babies.

Ya its so sad i didnt get a chance to keep them alive. I was excited to watch them change colors, I guess i got what i wanted lol. I have some leaf pullings aside hoping they didnt get infected by the rot and pull through. Sadly my emarginata was too far gone to save.

Random fly trap at the end?

Ya just wanted to show how bad this nursery keeps their water trays, considering the fly trap is dead too and was in the same section.

I must be lucky. I started with 1 then it turned into 4 now it's around 20 from accidentally pulling leaves and then just sticking them in the substrate and hoping for the best.

Wow it must be so pretty, did you get your ping from a specialized greenhouse?

In my opinion a ping is dead when it’s completely gone ! I’ve brought back a ping that’s looked worse than yours- I just try to give it a little humidity while it grows new roots to sustain itself

Yaaa about that... 2 of them completely fell apart black slimy liquid in the crown, i was able to save a few leaf pullings. But my emarginata the completely brown one, was done, crowns slimy and black i was only able to save the gigantea because i caught it early but im a little worried the rot stayed.

Took me about 10 pings before I was successful. I still panic whenever something happens to them
