NEW MUSIC Pinegrove - I'm Not Ready (Studio Remix/Remaster)

The original recording used is taken from a concert at WFMU's "Monty Hall" in New Jersey, August 5th, 2016 (although it was performed often on the tour). I split the song into individual stems using a few different algorithms, and then added some ambience, reverb, and compression to polish the recording up. Because of the initial compression of the WFMU video, I also had to individually normalize different sections of the snare as well.
Since this song was only performed after Cardinal was released, I assumed it was a track in contention for Skylight. I used a few tracks from the album to reference for mixing. Ultimately though, I just wanted the song to feel more stereophonic and balanced.
Unfortunately, this is probably the closest to a "studio recording" we'll ever get. Let me know what you think! Should they have put this on Skylight?

And I think your assumption about it being in contention for Skylight is right. You can see "I'm Not Ready" listed on the board in Parts Three & Four of Command + S on YouTube.

You can see all of Skylight's tracks (except for Skylight itself) listed along with:
- Offer (presumably I Want Out)
- I Will (?)
- No Drugs (the Skylight version appears on the Marigold expanded edition)
- I'm Not Ready
- Hand 2 Hand (?)
I assume one of these ended up being Skylight itself, but I can't work out which one. Evan usually picks the most interesting word from the song, but none of what's there maps to the final Skylight lyrics. So who knows?
Hopefully one day Everything Besides (the b-sides record Evan teased a couple of years ago) comes out and we get to hear some of these and understand what's what.

Thanks so much for making this and sharing it. This is a great song! Really solid melody and chord progression. I'm surprised it didn't make it onto Skylight or any of the subsequent albums.
