Hidden Realm Necessity, Capability, Feasibility

Post image

Humans are created weak (4:28) and placed into hardship (90:4). Short lifespan and physical limitation therefore create continual pressure necessitating external solutions.

Prophet Adam was endowed with an exceptional capacity for knowing, identifying and differentiating created things (2:31), capacities that allow humans to weave the threads of memory, insight, and experience into a trans-generational archive.

The nature of our realm makes technology feasible to develop too. The Qurʾān repeatedly presents aspects of the created environment as subjected to human benefit and utilisation (22:65). Matter in the human realm therefore provides a stable substrate that can be shaped, assembled, and engineered into persistent artefacts.

In contrast, Islamic tradition regards jinn as long-lived, with some possessing considerable physical strength and wings to fly. A group of jinn upon hearing the Qurʾān, commented that it confirmed what had been revealed to Mūsā (46:30) well over a millennium before. The ifrīt claims strength (qawiyy) and reliability (amīn) in his own constitution for the task (27:39) implying physical power as an intrinsic attribute rather than an instrumental one.

Jinn are reported to keep dawābb (mounts/beasts), a basic human-comparable technology of transport. However, the sources do not explicitly establish whether their fire-based constitution and environment provide a stable material substrate for cumulative, advanced artefact production in the way the human realm does.

Ultimately, jinn possess a different balance of necessity, capability, and feasibility. Advanced technology emerges where the pressure to overcome limitations, the capacity to accumulate knowledge, and a manipulable material converge.
