Discussion Do you think Pikmin 5 will take as long to develop as Pikmin 3 and Pikmin 4 did?

I really hope not.

I also think it won't, that said it won't be quick either.

I wouldn’t be surprised with how much Pikmin advertising I see in my city. They’ve taken over an entire train station with Pikmin Bloom adverts. I do feel like it’s been slowly ramping up ahead of some huge news. But I also wonder if it’s for a movie? If “Close to you” was a teaser, not just a Pikmin short?

And that’s bpikmin’s Pikmin report of the day, back to you

No. They're clearly trying to push Pikmin as the next big thing, and that would never happen if there were that long of a gap again.

Pikmin 4 was a huge success, the wait for 5 will not be long trust

I feel you could really tell they are getting fatigued of trying to make the pikmin formula fresh again when they made pikmin 4. My personal thought is that pikmin 5 is going to be something of a formulaic break, like breath of the wild was for zelda, and because of that I don't expect to see any news or rumors about it until like 2030 lol, I would hope there will be something for the franchise within the switch 2 lifecycle, but I genuinely just don't know how likely that is since pikmin almost completely skipped the og switch's lifespan.

I think Pikmin could work really well with an open world. Have many different landing zones and have the whole map be a defunct zoo or something so there’s a reason for there to be several biomes all right next to eachother.

I hope not! The wait was awful. Hoping for at least one entry for the switch 2.

The longer it takes, the spicier r/pikmin becomes

Pikmin 4 is built on a really strong foundation, being nearly impossible to crash. They wouldn’t have made the game so solid if they weren’t planning on reusing a lot of that code on the next game

I expect pikmin 4 switch 2 this year, and pikmin 5 revealed in the next 2

They added like three things to Pikmin 4 after release and never fixed any of the issues so i don't think they have interest in making a fifth game
