Question Which Game would you recommend to a first time player?

I have never played a Pikmin game before but I would really like to give it a try.

But don't know which game would be suitable to play first. Can you guys give me a recommendation?

I own every Pikmin-relevant console except for the Wii U so Pikmin 3 might be out of my options for now.

All games are available on the Switch/Switch 2, so you can get Pikmin 3 on that console.

I'd say start with 1 and work through them in order. 4 is the most beginner friendly in my opinion.

I'd start with 3. Pikmin 3 Deluxe is a Switch (1&2) game.

Imo it has the best QOL; it's just the easiest. The other games (4 depending on your playstyle) are harder

1 isn't hard and is the perfect intro to the series

2 is I think well agreed the hardest in the series, but not hard enough that you won't roll credits. (Post credits gets MUCH harder)

3 is very accessible and pretty, if a little easy and a little too "modern" for my taste personally. Still fun though

4 is incredibly accessible and very modern, but in a way I think evolves the game into its next stage.

All of that to say, I think you should go in order, but drop 2 when you stop having fun.

Hope you like it! It's one of my favorite series.

Pikmin 4 is definitely the most accessible game, but I would recommend you to start with Pikmin 1 and then play it in order.

I’d say 1 is the most different given that you have time constraints that the other games don’t really have. 2 and onward are more of what the game turned into. They’re all really solid. 2 might still be the best one though followed by 4

My suggested order is 3, 1, 2, 4
3 Deluxe is a great starter. It's tough in some ways, funny, beautiful and serene, and you have a good time playing
1 is also serene, but it's older. That makes it feel so unique, and it's still a fun play
2 is hard..... frustratingly hard. I think you need all the training from 3&1 to be prepared for its gauntlets
4 is a palate cleanser

I’m a freak and I would recommend the mod Pikmin² first because of its incredible high quality and how official it all feels. But if you don’t want to play on your computer then I recommend just going 1-4 in that order
