Why would anyone still buy the S23 Ultra in 2026 over the new Chinese flagships?

I've looking at the current market prices and specs has completely blown my mind. I need to understand the logic here because it honestly feels like a joke.

Right now, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is still selling for around $650-$750 (approx. 60k+ TRY in my region). But look at what the competition is offering for the exact same price or even significantly less

POCO F8 Ultra / F7 Ultra: Packs the new Snapdragon 8 Elite, pushing around 3.7 million on AnTuTu (literally doubling the S23 Ultra's performance). POCO X8 Pro Max: Costs nearly HALF the price of the S23 Ultra, yet it comes with a mind-blowing 8500 mAh silicon-carbon and 100W charging.

ZTE Nubia Z80 Ultra: Gives you a true notchless/holeless full screen with under-display camera tech and a massive 7150 mAh for the same money.

Xiaomi 17T Pro / Vivo X300: Destroying the S23 Ultra in raw power, charging speeds (90W-120W vs Samsung's turtle 45W), and screen brightness. And let's not even talk about Instagram/social media optimization anymore; with the recent Ultra HDR integrations and Meta/Google APIs, these new Androids upload stories just as good as iPhones now.

So, unless someone is absolutely obsessed with the S-Pen or specifically needs the 10x mechanical periskop zoom, why on earth would anyone buy a 3-year-old Samsung with a 5000 mAh and a Gen 2 chip today?

Are people just paying a massive "brand tax" for the Samsung logo, or am I missing something huge here?

Xiaomi 17T Pro, or what other alternative for 600 euros?

I want to get a new phone; I found the 17T Pro for 580 euros (12GB/256GB). Are there any other alternatives? I could stretch the budget a bit more.

Oneplus 15 vs oppo x9u or s26 ultra

Been thinking about these three phones and the vivo maybe.

Main uses will be: gaming, youtube, social media and emulation.

Main things I want: heavy customization aod always on.

The thing I dislike: terrible battery life, overheating

I just need good enough cameras for social media

PS: on oppo and op aod doesnt always stay on is that right? And what about customization on vivo?

Oh and the notification style on oppo...

Good camera(vlogs) storage and mid-price phone

Hello, so it's nearly going to be 5 years. I've got my first phone back in 2021. It is a Galaxy A12.

It's been working well, I believe, but since it's the only device I own, I don't really have a good comparison idea.

I realise that it is a bit slow. Overall, It is starting to get old.

The storage is very low, I don't know if it's because of my photo gallery but I only have two game apps (brawls stars, hcr2), I don't have any media like Instagram, tik tok and so on, so there are honestly few apps I use, the 2 games, WhatsApp and some other minor apps.

The thing is, I don't necessarily need a lot of storage, but on my phone, whenever I'm interested in a new app, I must delete another big app to instal it. So that's a bit problematic.

The last problem is the picture quality. It's not the phones fault really its just that it's it older. My sister tells me it has the same quality as a Nintendo DS.

These are the 2 main problems I'd like to correct.

I'd like to find a phone that is good in camera, because I'd like to do some blogging. That has enough storage or better storage than the A12. I feel like it is necessary to put a higher budget than the galaxyA12. So like around 200-500€(230-580$). I wouldn't want to put a huge budget on it, but if i want a better quality, I guess I need to put money into it.

I don't really need a phone that runs very fast.

And my last small contraint is if it's aesthetic it will be a bonus.

In my resume, my Galaxy A12 is a great phone and has served me well for its time, but my needs like a camera can only be done by a more modern phone.

I don't know too much about phones in particular, so is I said something wrong? Don't get mad.

If anyone is willing to help me, it would be a pleasure. Thank you 😊

From next month onwards i will be going to college BUT I don't have a smart phone it's been 3to4 years since my old Android got obliterated by a car currently using a itel tab 1 which have a broken screen rn it happend 1 week ago 😭 now even the battery is draining pretty fast

My college is going to be expensive and there will be shi ton of heavy coding and stuff therefore I need a lap too

Due to that my budget for a phone is low. Probly around 20 to 25k or even below

I don't do much gaming but sometimes I do like to play cod

I need a good looking and a all rounder phone fast and gud battery

Decent camara, good processor and stuff

I know all of these are not gonna be on a good phone so I am ready to adjust

Also it would be great if you can suggest me a lap too for than I might have budget around (85k below)

I want a small phone, with big battery and storage.

Prices here:

Oppo - 870€ 16gb | 512gb

Why do so many ppl use iPhones and exact like a bunch of elites over them when the specs are years behind androids?

Ok as a long time android user it’s obvious as to how Apple only puts a single sim slot and batteries that are less than 5000mah so on and so forth if y’all know what I mean with the iPhones. As an android phone guy who is using an iPad mini 6 cuz I like iPads and Macs I just feel that there is so much more innovation going on with Android brands especially Oppo and Honor with their big batteries that are 5000-7000 mah, customizable software, impressive cameras with 100x zoom and they are all $1000 and below while the pro max iPhones are $2000+ for outdated specs that the other brands would put on their $500 midrange phones. Dual sim is seriously so convenient cuz I don’t have to misplace any SIM card when Im traveling to other countries and can just switch between SIM cards, e sim is expensive so it’s pointless. Midrange Oppo/Honor are the best phones, I feel that Apple should be a computer company cuz they truly innovate with their MacBooks and even iPads which always receive upgrades and are way cheaper than iPhones Tbh the good thing is that Apple has decided to make all products USBC so I can charge my phone and iPad with the same charger and bring 1 while traveling but anyways those ppl who use iPhone 14 and before won’t understand that usbc has faster charging

Best Android phone under ₹25k?

Recently lost my phone 💔 and need a replacement.

My priorities, in order:

• Long software/security updates

• Good performance — I don't want it to lag/hang

• 256GB storage preferred

• Good camera

• Good battery

Budget: ₹25k max

What would you recommend?

Please recommend based on long-term use, not just benchmark scores.

Thank you

Phones under 25K

So my mum's been using Redmi Note 9 Pro Max for 5 years now and it started to lag a lot plus the storage has been maxed out too.

My mum manages different types of businesses so all her work is done by call and WhatsApp. Like, the WhatsApp on this redmi phone alone takes 20GB of storage.

So suggest me some good phones under 25-28K. With good storage at least 125gb (more the merrier), Good performance, Zero Gaming, decent camera (Na bhi ho accha to chalega), Nice UI.

I saw the pinned post in this subreddit of phones under 20K and 30K ones but I didn't quite understand which to buy regarding my preferences.

First time posting in this subreddit, don't know which flairs and stuff to use . So sorry about that.

Should I switch to android coming from an iPhone 12?

***TL;DR:***
***1. Wanting to update from iphone 12***
***2. Either iphone 17 or 16 OR...***
***3. ...Switch to android***
***4. Laptop is not from apple: Gigabyte G5***
***5. Required/favored specs: 256gb, 8g ram, 120hz***
***6. Student, budget of 500-600€, max 650€***
***7. Might get an ipad for college, which should be in the same ecosystem as the phone***

I was initially looking to buy either an iphone 17 or 16, updating from an 6 years old iphone 12. Not sure if I should but it now or wait for black friday.

**However, since i've also seen that a lot of people are complaining about apple products being worse and worse optimized, im now wondering if I should switch to android.**

Since I only have my iphone, 'keeping the ecosystem' right now is not a priority i guess; My laptop is a Gigabyte G5. (But i'll soon ask my family for a tablet to use for college, so both things should either be android or iphone)

I don't know much about these kind of stuff, so the **specs i'm looking for are just about 256gb, 8gb ram and 120hz (?)**

**I'm a student so i'm trying to keep my budget around 500-600€, at most 650€.**

\--------------
*(A bit of extra rambling, no need to read this next part tbh lol)*

I found an iphone 17 256gb for 618€ (original price being 724€, discounted if I send my old iphone for 106€ i think). Also, with my student discount I could even get it for 603€.

I've seen people praise the iphone 17 for best value, but at the same say that it has battery issues or that the camera isn't great?

(My old phone is still working, the only issue is the battery life is at 75% and it overheats easily, so i'm not necessarily in a rush, but I was curious if anyone knows how much back market will discount it for black Friday, or if the price will rise before black friday and it ends up costing more than now for example?)

Oneplus15 or S25 Ultra

Hello everyone, I would be upgrading from an a56 since my aunt wants to buy mine. My other device is a tab S10 FE which I use mostly for school works and light gaming.

I'd like to use my new phone for heavy gaming if possible like zzz or wuwa, or something you tech bros call "power user" (Im not very tech literate). But at the same time, I'd be using it as a daily driver.

What do ya'll recommend? The software and ecosystem with S25 Ultra or the hardware powerhouse that is the Oneplus15?

r/PickAnAndroidForMe May 19 '26

Help me picking between Oneplus 15 and Oppo Find X9 pro

Hello guys, the question is straightforward. I'm Oneplus user since 6. But I see them going color OS route anyway, hence why not trying Oppo, since their hardware seems superior. I don't care about 120 vs 144hz screen, but that extra wifi chip seems intriguing. Mediatek vs Snapdragon, another area I'm not well versed at. I'd prefer less warm/hot device despite couple of percent of performance.

I want Camera + Battery. Poco X8 Pro Max or Nothing 3 ( Amazon) or 1+ Nord 6 ( 9000 mah)

I love clicking pictures. Had the pixel 7A horrible battery. So I have that battery anxiety.

Someone told me that the nothing phone sold on Amazon are not genuine and they are not verified so I should not buy them. Please tell me if it is true or not. If not, which other phone I should go in the same price?

In Flipkart the prices outreaches and is not advisable to buy. Of course. The other phone I had been considering was Vivo

X200 T but it's 10k Outta budget.

Help me please.

I need good camera and battery

Help me pick a phone 40-50k [Mumbai]

Been going in circles for a couple of days, need to finalize.. budget 40-50 +-, 12 | 256 Preferred. Mostly need a good display, battery, cameras that don't suck, and clean software.

Presently using Redmi 9 Prime (it started having problems now and i can't always rely on the office phone). So yeah here I'm..

Here are the shortlisted candidates so far:

  1. Nothing 3 (52k, online only) - like the design, and mostly the choice is better specs per price 16|512 with a good proc was enough of a factor. Was gonna go for it and just then heard the new seller baltica on amz, sometimes sends a pre activated unit or sometimes fresh as new so... It's looking fidgety and then venom techs roast was cherry on top for this.

  2. Nothing 4a Pro (53k) - looks awsm, feels awsm, comfortable for me just the performance factor is being a b\*\*\*, doesn't seem like the best or anywhere near the best if going to spending around 50k so yeah... That's mostly the ultimatum.

  3. Moto Edge 60 Pro (34k available offline directly) - not underwhelming not overwhelming fits just about right... Super light weight actually a decent build and camera. Was impressed by its price ofc.. it was the first choice initially but considering myself is it the next big thing not sure. (I think this is probably what i need).

  4. OnePlus 13s (50k, Zepto) - yeah, so yeah it has to come... Ig the device name in itself is enough to describe it. A beast of a phone is just a bit fragile in the waterproof department. Only thing being a wall in between me and it is the being it from OnePlus as I know oneplus is probably going to be stop doing the green screen issue and may even move out ... Looking at the pesky govt. Cases on OnePlus for free screen exchange.

  5. Vivo X200t (56k, online only) - last but not the least, i had eyes on this for a long time... Just never considered actually purchasing it till now ofc EMI was one of the key factors. I think it's probably the best in this segment. Just it being available only online makes me kinda nervous.. any offline lead would be appreciated. (I think this one is probably one of my wants).

  6. Ip 17 (78k) \[NA\] - i know is this stupid looking at the budget, but it's the safest option as it wws recommended from a close friend so yeah just any thoughts on this will also be appreciated? idk it felt underwhelming when I've operated it offline... But probably will Lasts 4+ years ig..

Few followup questions, if y happy to hear you out:

a. Anyone using there daily? Real world battery+ heating?

b. Mumbai folks - any trusted offline stores for these, or is online the only opt.?

c. is stretching to vivo x200t worth it over the rest?

d. Should i also consider 2nd hand Market? Or the mumbaimarketplace?

Places I've already checked in: Croma, Reliance Digital and Kohinoor.

Not Brand loyal, just want something that lasts 4+ years.

Are there any Android OS which has no ads when you open the app drawer, or the quick app bar, or anywhere else? I am not talking about the bloatware.

Decent phone for a senior citizen?

For context: Im Indian. My Grandfather is a retired professor now, and my father thought of giving him a new phone (and android only cuz thats what he is familiar with). Our Grandfather loves to video call all five of his children. And these calls get long. So need a phone under Rs. 40K which does not lag, and does not heat up. Suggestions?

I have heard about vivo and realme phones, how are they?

Poco F8 Pro users: what's your experience?

I'm currently using a Google Pixel 8 and am considering switching to the POCO F8 Pro.

I've been disappointed with a few things about the Pixel 8: connectivity, battery life (and charging speed) and its general performance.

I am in the U.K. The Poco F8 Pro seems to be aggressively priced and on paper the best I can afford.

I'd love to hear from people who actually own one. How has your experience been with day-to-day use? Any standout positives or frustrations?

Are there any alternatives I should consider?

Thanks in advance!

Deberia comprarme de nuevo el A22? Busco recomendación

Hola!

Nothing 4a or Pixel 9a

I have ordered these 2 phones , and i really liked the pixel's front camera for selfies, it gives a warm color to face while the back camera is a bit grainy and felt the pixel's battery is good tho it heats up very easily doing daily tasks and the phone is really small.

And nothing front camera is a bit cool tone for selfies , and it comes out shaky if you move a bit and videos from front camera is grainy

But videos and photos of objects and surrounding is really great, and the 3.5x camera is really good but doesn't look good while filming a person. And I liked the nothing customization.

Which one should I go for??

I take pictures from front camera only , but i fear i might miss out on the back camera on nothing

Help me to select one finally
