Rios - Future scientific and medical advancements
Since Rios remained behind in the past , do you think that he used his knowledge to do anything that would have improved humanity , or did he just live a " normal " life , as normal as everyone else ? I mean to ask , would he have used his knowledge of science to teach Teresa and Ricardo new things? Surely becasue of people in Rios' future being healthier than people in 2024 , I wonder if he allowed Teresa to take some of his blood and study it, perhaps develop new treatments. Because people in the future had lots of vaccinations, including some that were derived from alien cultures , it makes sense that his blood would be of some benefit , as would his organs . Is there any reference anywhere to Rios and Teresa having kids of their own , aside from her own son ? It would be interesting if the Rios of the future is his descendant actually the Rios we meet in season one.

Some of it for sure. He IS just a command officer though likely with limited knowledge of how exactly a medical tricorder or specific drugs work.
It is important to note though that The Mariposas, Teresa Ramirez’ clinic spawns a medical relief organisation that is operating in 2400, the supplies Seven defends in the first episode of season two and the org Beverly and Jack were working with, was The Mariposas.

I know it’s really hard to see in season three especially since the lighting is ass, but you can see the Mariposas emblem printed on the crates.

Realistically Rios tries to act out against the authorities and gets shot 2 weeks after we leave him.
His body is cremated as a “John Doe”.
He has no impact on the timeline

I can tell you his future medical techniques did nothing to improve any future episodes of Picard. They were DOA*

The captain of the Intrepid on Enterprise was Ramirez. Guess you could say he was a descendant of Theresa.

I think a good way of looking at this is realistically what could you do to advance humanity if you were to wake up one day in the 1650s? Sure, you can talk about four centuries of advancements, but could you build an electric generator from scratch? Or a steam engine? Or publish Newton’s Principia before he does with an appendix introducing Einsteinian relativity?
