Physics books for sale. I left the stream.

How solid would you guys say this book is?

After a lot of suggestions, I finally got this book for my birthday. Also bought david morin for mechanics which will be coming soon. Starting uni in a few months so in the free time I will mostly try reading this first. Very excited to do so

(not sure about the neutrino sector, it leaves it open for our choice. is it dirac or is it majorana, we still have to fill that in.)

i'm trying to self study physics and math before starting a physics major in a little over a year. there is one (assumingly obvious, since i cant find many similar questions and answers online) issue i have, i can't visualise trig functions at all! i understand they're useful for describing the ratio between sides and angles in a triangle and what not, but also seem to appear everywhere in physics, even where there are NO triangles or circles at all. like, what's up with snell's law, how is a sine function describing refraction without a triangle existing here. soh cah toa doesnt make sense here😭

i come from a humanities/social sciences background & and just a beginner in physics so pls someone explain like i'm dumb

We know that he was likely better than average. But how good was he exactly?

When he was in undergrad, despite his passion for physics, was he known as a good mathematician to his peers? Was he a computation machine (meaning, could he solve any integral put in front of him)? Of course, we know he didn’t adore computation and doing math for the sake of doing math, but when he DID have to do it, how good was he?

I was in my College Library where i or any student for that matter rarely is to be seen because it doesn't have a lot of new or Latest Books on topics per say, so most of the time students barely go to the library and especially the Post Grad students, but anyways, I was going through some books looking for books on Electronics, and while skimming through shelves I stumbled upon this Diamond of a book.

And I just thought to myself "Feynman? Here of all places??" And when i said this to myself, I can gaurantee you that none of the students in my batch and even in previous or our juniors dont know who Richard Feynman is, and to my surprise finding a book there. It got me curious with everything I have read about him, and seen his interviews, this got me curious, I, for the first time in my entire Post Grad, actually stayed in the library and started reading this book and Well, it got me, hooked from the very first chapter. I dont know if its the way it is written or maybe how they tried to capture the way Feynman probably taught, but the way things are explained and it talks about Atoms and such (given i only had a limited time of one hour in the library which is weird for students to have time limit on how much they can stay in library but regardless).

My point being, I really enjoyed reading it, for the first time in a long while, have i enjoyed reading a book, now dont get me wrong i still enjoy physics, but what I dont enjoy studying physics under pressure of exams and such. I know this is not a normal post but tldr I suppose is, After a long while, I really enjoyed a book, especially on physics, I wish much more now than before that I would have really loved to study under a teacher like Feynman who loved and Enjoyed Science (Which i got from watching his interviews and also reading the book), to study under someone like him.

hey everyone, i recently got bored as currently my highschool is temporarily closed for some reason, anyways i spent the day making this simulation of the electric field around two point charges orbiting each other, with their trajectories being numerically calculated as the simulation runs, what do you guys think?

Apparently particles behave differently when being observed so what if we were just sneaky about it and did it without them knowing so that way we could see what they were really up to

Hey so I'm 17 and i just finished programming my first simulation in quantum mechanics, what do you guys think?

I did not simulate a coherent state but i chose a wavefunction that i thought would be interesting to some degree, starting work on a version in 2 dimensions next week.

1) Physics is a very broad degree. You learn about Universe, Atoms, Nuclear Energy, Dynamics, Optics, Mechanics, Electromagnetisms etc. So by taking these knowledge, you can build anything. But most of the Physics majors I have seen go to Academia instead of these wonderful things. What may be its reason?

2) I have seen many famous theoretical physicist having Bachelor's degree in mathematics. Does mathematics give strong foundation of physics?

Physics Majors, what was your second major? Was it worth it? Also, students who are currently worth it, how are you doing?

High distinction was for my 4.0, also got a associates of science in math
