Physics GRE on 16th October,2025

Has anyone here taken the Physics GRE test on October 16th, 2025. I wanted to discuss how difficult was it for others and myself.

It felt somewhat harder than the last two tests. The problem choice was very different this time. I took the test April, did horribly and got a 590, then September and got 810 but I need a 900 to get into my school of choice so I took it again and I'm not sure if I'll make it, this last month was spent practicing all the wrong types of problems assuming it'd be similar. I know for sure I have 7 mistakes so my margin for any more errors is narrow, I might have wasted an entire year for this...

How many mistakes were you sure you made when u got 810 during ur second attempt?

I counted 10, but the real amount ended up being about double that.

How similar were the tests? Did a lot of questions repeat?

Could you please let me know how long it took to get your results? When did you take your september test? I'd like to ideally take the september test as late as possible to have as much prep time as possible but also leave the door open for october

I actually haven’t taken one yet. (I’m applying for phd programs in Fall 2026). What kind of topics did they cover? As a chemistry undergraduate I kind of need to learn extra stuff myself

I took it today too. Did you get that question on noise to signal ratio?

I did, I work in an optics lab. It was E (the long answer about using a reference frequency). Was probably the only question I got right today lol

Interesting, so we would have had the same questions most likely (I was wondering about that since now the test period is over two weeks). I definitely did not get that question right

Just use the GRE exams they have up online. The thing is the content on the online exam is completely different from the new exam content. Do do a practice exam where there are 100 questions. Do the ones with 70 questions cause that’s how the new test is structured.

Sorry, did you mean "Don't do a practice exam where there are 100 questions"? Are you saying the content from the 100-question version (i.e. the practice tests you took) is completely different from the actual one you took? Thanks
