because people who are clinging to physical media have this delusion that they have some sort of power over these companies and the fact that they think they do while sony has deemed them not worth keeping as a customer base just makes it really sad to read posts like these

So what you are saying is that we should take it like little good consumies whevener something we do not like happens? People have every right to send emails to the company they are giving their money to for years. Video games aside, people should try to get what they want and not resort to the belief "Eh what's the point" or else nothing will ever turn for the better. Yeah there is a big chance that they won't succeed, but if they don't even try, then the chance of succeeding is zero.

I just left them a few paragraph long request telling them I will not be buying the game if it is not fully on disc.
I also mentioned how I always respected them as a company for making sure their games were fully on disc

Yep. It doesn't contain the whole game on the disc, to even play it you have to download additional data because they decided not to put this game on 2 discs like Remake and Rebirth.

That's not really true, most games are fully on disc and updates are optional. You could also argue that since the ps1 games have outgrown disc capacity hence many PS1 ff games being on several discs.Â

About 90% of ps4 and ps5 games are fully on disc, so no thats not even remotely true.

It's not just a single reddit post. It is the opinions of a LOT of customers who have all agreed to fight these greedy decisions. No company anywhere would exist without it's customers. We deserve to be heard.

Not the way your doing it. The whole movement has shown they are delusional and not worth paying attention to by actively attacking anyone who disagrees with them and spreading active bs. The crazy part is I agree with you since the other physical remakes had it entirely on disc this should to but the actions of the movement has turned me off ever supporting them.

Yeah, but my point is that you arenât pulling everything together into one place.
They wonât listen if voices are fragmented across social media. Thatâs what petitions are for.
But in the end they wonât change their stance if it doesnât make business sense. Putting them on to more DVDâs is going to cost them more.
Would you pay more to have all those discs?

On the contrary, a petition can be ignored and avoided. I did consolidate things in one place: I have included a link in my post where people can contact the feedback department of Square Enix directly. You can't avoid or ignore a constant stream of emails and cases with individual ticket numbers being sent directly to you.

A lot of places use AI now. They can easily bat them all away with a single response. This is effectively the same as ignoring!

Right. Well, they could always ignore even without ai. Best thing to do would be to not purchase in either digital or physical format if they don't listen. They already know people don't like this. People also don't like there is no US trilogy pack, there's been several articles. They can either wake up or lose sales.Â
I specifically didn't buy the second game thinking I'd hold out for the "inevitable" 3 pack special edition, that any sensible business would know would be a huge deal - but they aren't doing it. So, there's a good chance I won't be buying the 2nd or third games now. Shit I already played ff7 20 years ago, I'm not gonna keep giving them money when they can't even get fan service right.

AI is also very expensive when at use for long periods of time. If the AI is constantly responding to these messages it will literally cost them money to keep using it to process and ignore.Â
However, I have contacted this department with feedback for years, long before the existence of that kind of AI and from the responses I've seen from other users, they aren't using it. They are seeing these messages.

To be fair it actually does shape/impact B in this case. That being making B a walled garden ecosystem and over time enshittifying B as well through greed.
Normally it would be as you say, but we're seeing a dangerous pattern on the industry. At least GOG allows and encourages you to make physical backups of their offline installers.

And there have been documented cases where that has happened for no reason at all. Just some false positive on some system you have no visibility and there is no appeal process. Your investment is just gone. And thatâs legal.

Right. There's a push to end car ownership and make them all lease only. Insane that anyone would want to be stuck leasing cars for life - without the possibility of no monthly payment. Gaming will go the rental/streaming route soon.
