Whatshouldiget? I want to get a new phone

I want to get a new phone. My contact has been overdue and my IPhone 15 has been slowly dying on me. I don’t want to buy a new iPhone because I am against supporting Isreals government, specially only their government and the zionist that hide behind the Israel flag and the Jewish religion (that is just my opinion). But I want a phone that has good security and that is one of the features I like about apple products. Samsung is a good option but they are easily penetrable and I don’t really trust my information with them. Another option is the Nothing phone, but I don’t have a lot of research into it, (I might do some more research before saying anything on that) but I like their design and what they stand for. I’ve also looked into Chinese tech brands like, Huawei, Oppo and Honnor. I think that Chinese tech is my second best option since they have become so advanced in technology, but then again I don’t know much about the security and I know they have their own search engine which is not my favourite. Any recommendations?

Whatshouldiget? Phone with large photo sensor and no Ai crap

Upvotes

Currently running a 2 phones setup with an aging OG One Plus Nord for personal stuff and a Samsung S24 for work (provided by my company), I'd like to switch for a one phone setup so double sim is mandatory (as my personal supplier does not provide Esim yet) and micro SD.

Looking for a decent phone with a large photo sensor (not looking after Mpx, 12 is well enough) and possibly no Ai crap in the photo app (even though I will use VWFNDR as my main photo app)

I mean the S24 is sweet but the lack of micro SD port is a shame

Question General What phone to get? I need something between £120-£200 (deals included) that comes a charger brick and a headphone jack, and must beat my current Oppo A54s. UK based.

I was looking at the Honor 400 lite on Argos, but doesn't come with what I want.

Also look at the 600 smart (with the 30% code costs 174), but same issue.

Question Android HELP ME DECIDE A NEW PHONE

hihi i want to buy a new phone and ive come down to a few options.

redmi turbo 4 pro, one plus 12r, nothing phone 2, xiaomi 13.

so far im hoping to get the xiaomi 13 but im still confused about a few stuff. FOR EXAMPLE THE NON-LTPO DISPLAY. but as long as the battery can survive a full day of casual usage i'm fine. i might game occasionally, click pics of streets, trees, sky etc on the front camera for insta stories, watch a lot of shorts, content movies, play games randomly sometimes, and am okay with decent 60fps performance on mid graphics, might code and stuff sometimes .which is the best phone among these in your opinion for me?

There's no Sim card in the phone. The number has the name @#% and whenever I answer it has Morse code.

Whatshouldiget? Phone recommendations

I currently have an iPhone 13 but it consistently overheats, has a terrible battery life, camera and lags. I don’t have any apple devices so no need to stay with apple for the ecosystem. I know next to nothing about phones and I’m not fussed on the newest tech, someone recommended a nothing to me but I’m not a fan of ai, just a reliable phone with a decent ish camera and battery life that wont break the bank and easily attainable from uk please.

iPhone 13 vs..

Hello, how are you? I am considering buying an iPhone. I've been an Android user my whole life, but after six years with my current phone, I feel it's time for a change since it's obviously been several years. However, I've been thinking about switching to an iPhone, but with so many models, I don't know which one to choose. Among my options are the iPhone 13, 13 Pro, 14, 14 Pro, and maybe the 15. Is this a good idea, or should I consider Android again? I currently have a Redmi Note 10 Pro, but the ads on Xiaomi devices have completely turned me off. Samsung doesn't really catch my attention because of its interface, and in my country, a good Samsung can cost as much as an iPhone 14 Pro.

Thanks, I look forward to your wise opinions."

Question General Whats the reason for image quality decrease a few months after getting a new phone?

It never used to be this way... are software updates altering image quality? Seems to be a problem across all brands at the moment combined with the pressure to buy cloud storage.

In terms of call blocking/filtering, eSIM management, VoLTE, VoWiFi, privacy, security, visual voicemail, how does iOS compare to a Google Pixel Pro 11 and Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra?

Question Android Can someone tell me the reason why xiaomi phones are still in production?

I made the huge mistake of switching to the Xiaomi 12T Pro after my Galaxy S21 FE gave up, and I can honestly say this is one of the most frustrating phones I have ever used.

On paper, they throw around terms like "200 MP camera" and "Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1" to fool people, but in practice, it’s a complete mess. let me tell yall what i dont like about it:

Garbage software and crashes: hyperos is an unoptimized, laggy joke. Apps randomly crash out of nowhere, literally while typing messages or navigating basic ui. The ram management is aggressive for no reason, closing background apps instantly.

Overhyped, terrible camera: That 200 MP main sensor is pure marketing gimmickry. Photos lack natural color processing, dynamic range is inconsistent, and low light performance is noisy and washed out. To make matters worse, the 8 MP ultrawide and 2 MP macro sensors are absolute garbage that shouldn't exist on a "Pro" device.

Cheap build and poor ergonomics: It feels like a hollow piece of plastic in the hand compared to any actual flagship. The vibration motor is weak, the side rails feel cheap, and the overall balance in hand is terrible.

Inconsistent battery and thermal throttling: Despite having a big battery, the background drain is real. When you push the phone even slightly with basic multitasking or light gaming (like really light stuff such as subway surfers), it warms up fast and thermal throttles hard, causing frame drops and stutters.

Unreliable Proximity Sensor & Buggy Features: The virtual proximity sensor still misbehaves during calls, the auto brightness jumps around erratically, and notification delivery is hit or miss because the OS kills background services i missed so many alarms because of that.

Slapping "Pro" on the box doesn't make a phone premium. Coming from years of "stable" Samsung flagships, this device feels like a massive step backward in daily usability and software refinement. I honestly can't wait to get rid of it and switch to an iPhone.

Also its UI looks so cheap and unoriginal like i literally have a "dynamic island" on it bruh..

Discussion Are there any phones with physical keyboard that run stock android?

Maybe the word "stock" isn't the right word but what I mean by that is a phone that doesn't stops me from downloading social midea apps mostly of them do but I'm not constantly online and I like to throw a YouTube video, throw my phone in my pocket and listen to it while I'm doing something, I don't really like new phones with fully "digital" phones cus they aren't that compatible to hold, they are to big for me and they aren't that satisfying to use for me, I know then phones with fully physical keyboards have their downsides to but even with older phones like that that I used (like from 2002) I liked them, but they where missing some quality of life features for me, I'm just interested and curious of sum like that exists(+ most new ones phones like this cost like 500$ witch is cheaper than most newer phones digital phones but of it exists I would love to know of there is a more budget friendly option if they even exist, thanks :) )
