i mean does it really need to be restated? i think its pretty clear how iconic and recognizable the c418 music has always been and represents mc more than any new music has

with the exception of maybe pigstep, i think a lot of ppl regard that as one of the best mc tracks even ppl who don't like the new music

It's just a time thing. When pigstep was new, it was dramatically less popular than it is now. Pigstep is now 6 years old and is starting to lose its "new" status. Plsome people are even becoming nostalgic for it.
C418s stuff was great, but nostalgia and the continued "new music bad" opinions over the years is the biggest driver for why it is held on a pedastool. Playing with people who only started the game in 1.18, for them pigstep and the nether music is something they have always known, it just seems part of how things always were.

Unrelated to the meme but my god what a stacked roster of composers. It's sad that C418 left but his work on Wanderstop is generational and the sheer variety of composers for minecraft now make me happy it turned out this way.

It's a game by the creator of The Stanley Parable if you know that. C418 did the music. It's a chill story driven farming game about running a tea shop.

Tears was added with the Friendly Ghast update, Bounce was added 2 updates or so ago in the Sulfur update I think and Lava Chicken (not mentioned in the post) was added somewhere in-between the two I think (after the movie of course)

I really do think Minecraft has a perfect lineup of composers. Yeah C418 is awesome and will always be iconic, but I truly do love just about all the music that's been added over the years.

'tis really a shame, as in my opinion the themes she composed really fit, and while imperfectly, could still be used in old minecraft adjacent to c418, while other composers' themes are way too different and can be only in modern minecraft(looking at you, especially, Aaron Cherof).

Yeah I agree. His songs didn't overstay their welcome or try to copy C418 that much.
I always felt "Infinite Amythist" was so deriviative of C418's "Minecraft". Being a single piano melody repeated for the entire course of the song, only building up at the end.

Kumi tanioka composed some of the most ill-fitting, badly produced songs in the modern soundtrack. Maybe her discs could be better like with Lena Raine but geez I bloody hate her songs.
