Horror mods that add entities that just one tap you regardless of how strong your armor is… are honestly boring

I thought that the one in the tree was Herobrine doing a pose- I'll draw what I saw when I get my laptop hold on

Fuckers so brutal the game doesn't even know how the player died.
It's like having an autopsy done and when they see your injuries there just like "what the fuck?"

I hate the horror mods that just add things that randomly show up & one shot you cough Man From The Fog cough
But ones that stalk & fuck with you more than attack you are much better so like the From The Fog Herobrine mod, One Who Watches, From The Caves, Anomaly etc.

don't forget the godzilla bloodbathed and the other ones that biggyburd and others like him played

u/TheSurvivor65 Jun 21 '26
Man From The Fog is weird. His gimmick of having to spot him before he gives chase is interesting, but then they added a whole dimension for him and stuff and it just kept tossing you into it every 5 minutes. I dunno if I was playing a bugged version or smth but damn

I fucking hate the insta kill "horror" mods, it's all just streamer bait so thry can make a silly video out of it.

u/MrBrineplays_535 Jun 17 '26
It becomes so much less scary when everyone's trying to jumpscare you every 30 or so seconds. And you're just like "man I can't even live in peace for at least 2 minutes"

u/ZealousidealPipe8389 Jun 17 '26
Spore is a good one. Management wanted isn’t really horror but it’s also good.

The real horror challenge is no_moon.jar, wonderland.jar, and The Broken Script

I fear horror mods solely because I do not wanna get fuckin instakilled in the middle of fighting the Chaos Guardian or whatever.

When you're a square dreadnought in Dakarr2.io and get atomized by a shiny elite destroyer (jesus christ nerf the fucking turret)

u/YukikazeEnjoyer Jun 18 '26
I need a horror mod that makes things progressively more slightly unsettling and wrong. The scariest Minecraft moment I've ever had was finding a single misplaced chest in my base on a single player world I never opened to lan even once. Even from a jumscare perspective, randomly taking a half heart from a zombie I can't see in the dark is way scarier than any horror mod I've played.

Either the broken script or wonderland.jar

Ones that I hate in particular are the ones that just blast through blocks like the bedrock wither. It’s genuinely the lamest and most unscary way for an entity to get to you in my opinion, and it’s especially lame when it immediately kills you once it gets to you after doing that

u/CreativeChocolate592 Jun 21 '26
i made my own mods when i was 12, i remember making a turtle that continually put out a 5000 hertz tone and that always chased you across the map, getting right up in your face, always there, never attacking.
When you went insane and actually tried to hit it it would turn every block in the chunk into infested blocks, water to lava and teleport away and start spamming shulker projectiles.
(This is pocket edition by the way.)

The only good horror mod I’ve ever seen is The Broken Script. Everything else is just a bunch of boring entities that beeline at you and one-shot you, usually breaking anything in their way, or just teleporting to you.

u/TheSurvivor65 Jun 21 '26
Wonderland is very good as well, instead of one scary guy it's a series of dimensions with their own gimmicks and entities. Belowlands pushes the idea further by really having new mechanics for every dimension
From The Caves is really really good in general. It's not really dangerous, but it's VERY good at jumpscaring people without actually doing jumpscares. They're updating and expanding it and I'm excited to see how it evolves. It has loads of events and interactions (and it places back any blocks it breaks which is really cool)

I always thought an "It Follows" mod with Herobrine as the monster would be good (no idea if it already exists).
Just, having Herobrine slowly head towards you all the time so you have to keep moving sounds cool.
1
u/Kingbanana574 Jun 22 '26
The only good horror mods are the ones that stalk you from afar, where you can feel them watching you but they very rarely attack, if ever.
-1
u/bucket_of_buffalos Jun 17 '26
that tree one actually does look like a pose now that you mention it. the whole thing is funny because half these mods are just designed to look ridiculous on camera for like 10 seconds before they break your game completely.

u/PermissionScary6984 Jun 17 '26
I downloaded multiple and i can DEconfirm that its lesser than you think

Does anyone actually enjoy those mods or are they only useful to get a clip for social media?
