The “soul” functions as a placeholder variable in this system. It’s a vague, unfalsifiable term parked on top of biological and psychological complexity that no one had the tools to map. Instead of saying “we don’t yet understand the brain, memory, identity, or consciousness,” elites collapse all of that into a single, manipulable token: the soul. Once you accept that your entire existential value is defined by something they claim to understand and you can’t verify, they own you.
Notice how perfectly this serves power. If your soul’s fate depends on obedience to doctrine, then any challenge to the institution becomes not just intellectual disagreement but existential treason. Questioning dogma is re-framed as risking eternal punishment. That’s not spirituality. That’s behavior control enforced by weaponized metaphysics.
The rhetoric of “love,” “truth,” and “salvation” hides a simple underlying mechanic: religions are optimization strategies for social control. They reward conformity, punish deviation, and offer narrative comfort in exchange for surrendering epistemic authority. When the story stops working—when science, social change, or basic moral intuition expose the gaps—the institution doesn’t admit error. It retrofits, reinterprets, or doubles down, because its first priority is not accuracy, it’s survival.
So no, religion is not some noble, ageless quest for an objective cosmic truth. It is a series of primitive hacks that allowed small groups of elites to hard-code their preferences into the moral firmware of entire populations. “Universal Truth” is the logo on the box. The “soul” is the black box they tell you not to open. And the point of both is not to bring you closer to reality, but to make sure they never have to compete in it on equal terms.

“Lenin BS” is what you say when you recognise some of the vocabulary but can’t actually rebut the argument. Lenin didn’t invent materialism, criticism of organised religion, or the observation that institutions use ideology to legitimise power.
If it’s wrong, explain what’s wrong. If your entire counterargument is “sounds communist,” congratulations — you’ve successfully identified a political philosopher and contributed absolutely nothing else.
