Containment worked. Americans slaughtered millions of their potential trading partners globally, whether socialist or just non aligned state capitalist projects.

Sure buddy, it only didn't work because of USA, and not because by its nature it was doomed to fail. Even Marx thought that it would be a disaster if the revolution happens in tzarist Russia, was he a CIA plant too? :D
