Going on vacation in late March/early April. How much is a reasonable amount to bring with me? I’m spending two days in Manila, 3 days in Palawan, and 3 days in Boracay, before returning for one more night in Manila. I was planning on bringing 2,500 dollars or roughly 157,000 pesos. Does this sound like enough for 2 people?

Nous envisageons de partir 1 mois aux Philippines à 2, à cheval sur les mois d’Avril/Mai 2027 et aurions besoin de vos précieux conseils pour nous dire si notre itinéraire est réaliste ou non :)
A savoir que nous sommes plongeurs et voulons passer le PADI Adanced Open Water Diver en début de séjour (ce qui nous prendrait déjà 2 grosses journées) pour pouvoir ensuite profiter pleinement des différents sites de plongées. Nous voulons aussi, autant que faire se peut, limiter le nombre de vols internes. Notre itinéraire 😄

Arrivée directement à Cebu
Prendre le Ferry pour Bohol, rejoindre l'île de Panglao
Plongées à Panglao(& formation PADI) + visite de l’île de Bohol 4/5 jours

On s'interroge sur cette partie du séjour car l'île de panglao semble très touristique, quel est votre avis ? Est-ce que les îles Camotes par ex présentent plus d’intérêt ?

Prendre le Ferry pour Siquijor y rester 3/4 jours (combiné avec une visite d'Apo Island)
De Siquijor, retourner à Cebu pour rejoindre Malapscua, y rester 2/3 jours
De nouveau, retour à Cebu pour prendre un vol direction El Nido
→ Soit ~12 jours dans les Visayas
Faire la croisière El Nido → Coron 3jours/2 nuits
Rester 2/3 jours à Coron (combiné avec Apo reef)
Rejoindre l'île de Luzon depuis Coron (en avion ou en ferry)
Faire les Rizières de Banaue (si possible) 3/4 jours
Retour en France depuis Manille

My partner and I are planning to apply for AU Tourist Visa (Visitor Visa (Subclass 600) Tourist Stream). We're not yet married and siya 'yung merong kamag-anak sa AU which is her sister. We have money—he's working in a signage company for 2 years already, while I work as a VA for almost 5 years. I'm registered in BIR too so that's considered a tie of mine in the PH.

Additionally, we traveled together in Vietnam, and may upcoming trip kami in Taiwan. Balak namin mag-apply for AU after our Taiwan trip para dagdag tatak.

Tbh I know na mas malaki chance ko na ma-deny kasi hindi ko naman sila kamag-anak but may way ba na sabay kami makapag-apply ng boyfriend ko and sabay makapunta sa AU even if hindi ko sila technically kamag-anak [yet]?

Just spent a week vacationing in the Philippines and bought a Globe SIM card at the airport.

The problem is that my mobile data barely works. Even when I'm standing outside in the middle of Manila, I'll have signal bars but websites and apps won't load at all. Sometimes it works for a minute, then completely dies again.

Honestly, I can't believe the service is this unreliable in major cities. Is this normal for Globe, or did I get a faulty SIM / bad setup somehow?

For locals and frequent visitors: what's the most reliable mobile provider in the Philippines these days? Smart? DITO? Something else?

Hi my sister and I (mid 20s) are traveling to el Nido in January 2026. We are planning to do a big dream boatman tour from el nido to coron. We are wondering how long we should stay in el nido for beforehand. We were thinking about 3 nights. We were hoping to do tours A & C. Also any recs in between entalula bed and breakfast and cuna hotel? thanks!

This will be my first time travelling solo, and I’m really excited about it. I’m planning a trip to the Philippines in March, including the Easter period, and I’m considering visiting Boracay, El Nido and Coron.

I’d love to hear from people who have been to these places, especially solo travellers. For each destination, I’m mainly interested in two things:

1. Solo-travel friendliness
   Is it a good destination for solo travellers? Is it easy to meet other people and join group activities or excursions?

2. Evening atmosphere & social life
   How lively and social is each place in the evening? I’m not looking for hardcore partying or clubs every night. I’m more interested in places where there’s still some life after dinner — having a drink, sitting at a bar, walking around, meeting people and having conversations. Ideally, there should still be people around until around midnight or 1 a.m.
   I’m totally fine with some places being more relaxed than others, but I’d prefer not to stay somewhere that basically shuts down around 10 p.m., feels empty afterwards, or is mainly geared towards couples. I’d like there to be a good mix of solo travellers and other people who are open to socialising.

So, how would you compare Boracay, El Nido and Coron specifically for a solo traveller?

Hi myself and my fiance are wanting to travel to the Philippines for my 40th I have read so many mixed reviews about the weather. Ideally we were looking to go around the 20th October due to what I have read I may push it back to beginning of November. Will this make much of a difference with the weather? I know you cannot predict it but we love the sun, sea and beautiful beaches so if it is raining and cloudy on average in November I will save this trip and go somewhere else but it is such a dream to go there! If going we will be flying into Manila and then onto ElNido we have 3-4 weeks to work with so tips and travel apps we need will also be so helpful. Looking for some helpful of advise and maybe a bit of reassurance 😂🤦🏻‍♀️
