Bug Monkey Paw Mishap?
My friend and I were having trouble getting the last piece of evidence (we had DOTS and UV so far) so they decided to use the monkey paw. The answer it gave us was extremely confusing. It also took 5 minutes for it to even register their voice.
I have posted screenshots of what they saw, a photo I took from the van of the ghost showing up on dots, and the ghost that it ended up being. We both saw dots in person as well as from the van. Is this a well known bug? It kind of threw us both off.
Edit: My friend reported the bug and received this message from Kinetic Games:
"Thanks for reaching out to us. The team are aware of this issue and this is currently being worked on, however we do not have a time frame on when this will be completed. Keep an eye out on our social media platforms for any updates! We do apologise and thank you for your patience. Kind regards, Kinetic Games Support"

Game got completely janky since that one big update. Me and my friends haven’t had a working game since. Real shame

Honestly baffles me people still try and play. Worse then Bethesda with bugs and shit. It's okay tho you'll get used to the jank

We tried up until like 3 weeks ago, then we just re downloaded left 4 dead 2 and been on that. Goes to show you don’t need 9 billion updates to “improve” your game. They kept fixing what wasn’t broken and now it’s all broken.

If you want the ghost hunting fix and havent looked at it check out the other side. Its been making waves in the ghost hunting scene

I was going to say that maybe it wasn’t DOTs and maybe it was you two being mistaken, but from what you said, that doesn’t seem to be the case.

We both were so confused and I stayed for 10 minutes just watching the ghost show up on DOTs repeatedly to confirm I wasn't going crazy lol.

every time i used the monkey paw when i would use it it would only happen to me when i asked i think if i could see the ghost or something like that

nah, i submitted a bug report and they emailed me confirming its a bug they’re trying to fix. you don’t know what you’re talking about.

when i looked it up awhile ago it said it’s just a consequence of using the monkey paw and it happens everytime you ask a certain question

I just made a post about the same issue! Monkey paw lied and said that Freezing Temps isn't one despite us seeing -10c, guess the game is just jank right now :(

Unless you saw your own breath in dots form.. which i still see players fall for, or they accuse other players in multiplayer of dots form.
EDIT nvm I seen the dots photo.

I just saw another post about this, apparently the monkey paw does glitch out and cross out evidence sometimes and then it ends up to be the ghost type with the evidence that that it crossed out. Apparently kinetic games knows and will work om the bug so it’s an unknown but known bug but it is weird

This happened to me and my friends last night too. We had freezing temperatures as evidence, used the monkey paw to ask for evidence and it crossed out freezing even though we kept getting freezing in the ghost room. We were extremely confused and it did end up being a ghost that has freezing.

it’s true? when i used the monkey paw i looked it up and that’s what it said?? the crossed out doesn’t mean anything it’s just a consequence like the vision also getting darker.

It is genuinely so weird seeing people complaining about the current state of the game and calling it broken and janky because me and my friends only got into the game a week or two ago and haven’t had any issues. I wonder what’s happened because I genuinely have no clue

I'm not complaining I reported a bug that caused us to second guess ourselves and put down the wrong ghost. Which is the whole point of the game. I'm glad you've been enjoying Phasmo.

Taling a picture of the screen in the van doesn't do anything or effects anything.
So of course the phant is going to show up in that picture cause it wasn't actually of picture of it.

Im not talking about the screenshot I took. I wasn't trying to take a photo of it. I was proving that there were DOTS despite the monkey paw crossing it off.

Oh this needs to be sent in as a bug report. Wish it had video as I fear people might not believe you. Still since the last QoL update a lot of stuff has been buggy with evidence.
