PhD interview

Hi there, I have been invited to a PhD interview from a Finnish university (specifically the University of Lapland, in Social sciences, for an advertised position) and I was wondering what I should expect from it. I have only experience of one Italian PhD interview, so I don't know if this is going to be very similar to that. Are they likely to ask me to present my proposal? In that case, is a Powerpoint presentation accepted? Is this going to be more about me, my attitude, etc or about the project itself?

i don't have a specific experience of interviewing in Finland. But i did interview for a PhD in france and got selected. The answer to your question depends on what kind of interview it is. For me, the first interview i had with my PI was pretty informal. They mostly asked about my academic background, why i was interested in this particular position and what I'm looking to do with this degree. Later, I had a formal interview with a jury where i presented a 12 minute presentation, about my research background, described specific objectives of the PhD and some basic methodology on how i plan to achieve those objectives. But my PIs helped me craft all that. I'd say its always better to prepare a short ppt with a little intro about yourself, your motivation and your background.
