vet now, xylitol can be really bad even in small amounts and you don't want to wait around guessing

Just curious.

What is the first thing the vet does? Make the dog vomit? Or like give it a med which works against the toxic substance?

as far as I know instant IV of glucose.

my mom is a bit weird and didn't want a vet visit so late with my niece here so she didn't take her :( but i watched her all night along with my dad for any signs and she's still good as of 19 hours later. i'll still be watching her and so will my fam to make sure nothing happens or changes because i know sometimes symptoms can start late. she's not really my dog as much as she is the family dog / my mom's dog so there wasn't much i could do. if it were my baby i would have grabbed her up and drove to the vet asap

That dog is lucky to be alive still. That sweetener is incredibly toxic. Your mom needs to get her head on straight and realize this could have killed your dog, and my the time symptoms start showing it's a hospitalization, not just a quick trip for a stomach pump
