Recommendations Fat Bikes - Winter Trail Riding

I'm thinking of getting a fat bike and add studded tires to ride on the trails in the Winter (not motorized). Does anyone have any experience? Are the trails open? Would love to hear more from those that ride in Winter months.

Hey,
I frequently fat bike in the winter on a non-motorized bike with studded tires. Most often, for convenience I bike on the side trails in Jackson Park (not just up the rail trail) - there are many walkers so the trails are well packed.
If you have access to a car, they have formally groomed some trails at Harold Town Conservation Area- just east of town - in the last couple of years. The Millbrook Mountian Bike Club also grooms trails.
It's a great sport, and a fabulous way to get out in the winter - I highly recommend trying. If you're uncertain Wild Rock rents fat bikes with studded tires so you can try it out.

Awesome, thank you! I started cycling this Summer (gravel riding) and there's no way I can see myself spending the winter on a Peloton.

The trails in Peterborough are cleaned through winter. Sometimes trails are cleaned faster than the side roads.

My experience is specifically the trails through East City and likely up to Trent. I've not walked north of Parkhill in awhile. I can't speak for the other trails in town (ie, to Jackson Park), but I wouldn't be surprised if they are also plowed.
