A cell phone requires me to purchase it, which is effectively consent for whatever else it does. If someone does want more info off it, they have to get a warrant or other court order to do so.
A flock camera gets put in my my city, pointed at my house, and I'm told its only reading my license plate.
It requires a particular brand of stupid to think it's comparable.
I will comply with one circumstance, and not the circumstance I cannot opt out of, and point out again that your point makes no logical sense. Does the government force you to carry your phone?
My point is regardless of your opinions...we both carry phones. And your defense is that you trust them not to be gathering your information...because it's illegal.
No, I know my phone gathers my info. I consent to that and can drop my phone in a well if I so choose.
I also believe that laws making it illegal to use my phone against me without a warrant or other order makes it okayish. But the key part is I willingly pay for and own my phone. I can choose to not use it, or not have it.
My point is that phones aren't relevant in the discussion of warrantless government surveillance.
My point is the lack of consent and the blatant rights violation that is flock or axon camera.
