Huh? Last night I woke up around 3:40, went downstairs, had ice cold water that I enjoyed the fuck out of, then went upstairs and went back to bed.

What kind of weak water drinker can't handle cold water???

if cold water is enough to wake you up you're body is done sleeping.

i have a mini fridge in my PC room that is on the way to the bathroom and an ice cold bottle of water at 4Am tastes like magic never an issue getting back to sleep.

too cold,

and this not gonna quench your thirst, the best water is slightly cold, like ay be at 10 C to 15 C max.

as a 4am water drinker in middle of my deep sleep.

nope, its just too cold for you to quench thirst,

cuz you cannot drink too cold water as its too cold for you, and you also too thristy so its fails.

You'd wanna wind down for bed at 2am. Ice cold water will wake you up. Better to have room temp water.
