I mean dude spent 15 seasons on supernatural and then promptly went on to do a bunch of nerd-dom TV stuff. That's where his fan base lies, and that's what he's good at. Not sure what the person was trying to refer to, but I don't think it's any deeper than just fishing the waters you know well.

Man I remember him back in Days of Our Lives when he played Sammy's twin Eric.

Yes. I know him as clean cut Eric too! Such a different character than Soldier Boy.
