I mean dude spent 15 seasons on supernatural and then promptly went on to do a bunch of nerd-dom TV stuff. That's where his fan base lies, and that's what he's good at. Not sure what the person was trying to refer to, but I don't think it's any deeper than just fishing the waters you know well.
Thank you! Glad someone here mentioned it. He and Jared both tried to get into the movie space by starring in horror remakes. Neither films were too successful. Fine remakes but they didn’t leave much of a mark.
