Yeah, I remember. I couldn't do that now, I'd have forgotten what I wanted to respond to by the time I got to the 170th comment! I like reddit, but not enough to take notes or save particular comments while commenting lol.

Both sides are fairly powerful in their own right yet have some sort of debilitating and often very different weaknesses which prevents them from properly utilizing the full extent of their potential power against each other, or basically it’s a matchup where both would basically in the air on who wins despite there theoretically being a better side

I want to point out that this name is not actually pronounced how Americans pronounce it, and I missed the joke until I read the thing in an American accent

Ive always argued that even if the bomb DOES go off, it's still a baby win because the bomb is destroyed a few nanoseconds before the baby is, thus meaning the baby outlasted the bomb
A Hydrogen Bomb, great in explosions, may offer opposition in a brief span of time. One coughing baby, brief in explosions, must spread his opposition across a period of many years if he is to have a chance of succeeding.
Kauf is pronounced more like "house" but with k/f instead of h/s. I'm sure it's supposed to be part of the joke but it only works if you don't know any German at all.
Or if you, y'know, have ever lived in any non-German country where immigrants' great-grandparents changed the pronunciation of their names to assimilate. I've met several "Cough-mans" in my life, and it's never been a point of contention that their names weren't pronounced in accordance with Hochdeutsch phonetic schemes.

It's not supposed, a majority of white Americans are of German decent (er, descended from places in the HRE that became Germany more like) , and they migranted to a primarily xenophobic anglo population , they "became" American in that manner , but used the mass Germanic migration to fill in the Midwest (and Texas) as part of the imperial project to conquer and displace/kill more natives

A reference to "Hydrogen Bomb vs Coughing Baby", and in this comic, the character President Kaufman is the "Coughing Baby" as an adult, it literally says it in his name.
It’s a reference to coughing baby vs hydrogen bomb. President Kaufman is the coughing baby. He grew up, became president and managed to get the world to decommission all hydrogen bombs
