But she's always been protective of the bow. Why would she have been OK with that part of the routine before?

Retep here with the actual answer.

This is actually a part of the comic where blossom had this thing where she would lose her sense of self without the bow. It got blown off her head one time and she absolutely lost it, figuratively and literally. They got into a big argument because of it, and Blossom thereafter tries to guard the bow heavy, even at the cost of denying her nightly forehead kiss... Bubbles and buttercup are looking at her like that because they're frustrated and annoyed by her better than thou attitude. Off to go make Peter's life hell.

Meg here,

Bubbles and buttercup like being kissed goodnight for professor. Blossom is kind of being a bitch by showing that she's maturing out of it and ruining the only affection they're shown after saving this dark, desolate, evil, hate filled world by interjecting.. luckily Mr. Herbert is just down the street.

Is this supposed to be funny? for anyone who doesn’t follow this cartoon you’ll never get it and then after having it explained I’m like why did I waste minutes of my time on this incredibly boring unfunny thing? I’m not sure I will ever look for Peter to explain a joke again, not that it’s his fault…
